" hunt? "

AFTER A LONG day, I finally got home.

Well, Salem and I's home.

I slouch as I force myself to get out of my car. My eyes painfully scan the lavender and gold wrapped Lamborghini parked in our driveway.

It takes all of my strength on my feet to bring myself to the front door and as I reach the last step, I notice a small envelope placed on the doormat.

"I swear if this is another one of those ding dong ditchers.." I sigh, bending down to pick up the envelope and it has my name on it, written in calligraphy.

I scrunch my eyebrows, throwing my purse over my shoulder to open the envelope. Inside of it is another letter with a short message.

Dear, Aurelia

Long day? I'm sorry. I'm writing this because I decided to do a gift for you. Just a small treasure hunt/puzzle that leads to a huge surprise. I hope you go through with it.

To get your first location, solve this riddle:

I'll keep you dry on a rainy day,
In the wind I might just blow away.

Play well!

From, Salem.

'I'll keep you dry on a rainy day' Should be an umbrella, though the only one I think I have is in my car.

I'm quick to walk back to the car, envelope and letter in hand as well as my purse over my shoulder. I unlock it quickly and slide back in, shuffling through my messy glove compartment.

I pull out a small umbrella, and as expected there's a note stuck onto it.

To the place where you like to read,
Not a long path and certainly not a big lead.

I roll my eyes.

The library, of course.

Salem and I had tons of memories there, both sorrowful and full of laughter, and now she's making me go back for a stupid treasure hunt.

But without hesitation, I start up the car and it rumbles underneath my feet. Shifting into reverse, I back out of the driveway and start the very quick, five minute drive to the community library of our neighborhood.

The streets are empty and quiet, not a single person in sight and most house lights are off. A few cars pass by as the roars of my car's engine fills the atmosphere.

I get to the library within a few minutes. I'm quick to rather lazily park in their empty lot before I get out of my car, lock it, and head towards the two closed, glass doors.
