Jack actually sent me Aaron's number, and Choi had just dumped Beanie's body.

I sat in the car, waiting for him to finish cleaning up. I looked at the text again, re-reading the number. Choi is taking me somewhere else, but Aaron might be unaware he's walking into a trap.

I hate him but, seems harsh to let him get killed by his shit head dad.

I dialed the number, keeping watch through the rear view mirrors.

    "Hello?" He actually answered!

"Aaron?" I don't know what else to say really, this feels awkward. Maybe because I don't plan to tell him where I'm heading.

"Sunshine? I'm so glad you called." He does sound relieved.

"There's something you need to know. I can't explain but, New York is a trap." I told him.

"How did you find out?" He asked calmly.

"Um, I can't really explain. Just know that your dad wants both of us dead." I sat up, seeing Choi walk out of the cabin.

"Gotta go." I hung up, hiding my phone quickly. I don't know why, Choi knows I have a phone. Although I might get in trouble for talking to Aaron, I don't need him ratting me out to mom and dad.

"Ready? We got a longer trip this time." Choi got in, starting the car. I nodded, opening my phone when it vibrated with a message.

Aaron demanded I call him back asap.

We finally arrived in Kansas, Choi said we'll be arriving at the safe house soon. He informed me that mom and dad know about the whole interaction with Beanie. I imagine they are both feeling very smug not trusting the Kovacks.

Soon I'll be able to see Jack as well. I've had a pit in my stomach ever since I talked to him. Soon he'll tell me everything. I've been trying to mentally prepare for whatever it is.

Aaron sometimes texts me. He's updated me twice about where he is, and what he's been doing. Strangely enough I don't mind talking to him. I feel bad for lying to Choi, he thinks I've been talking to Jack.

"What if Rio turns you in?" Ah, right on time.

"They will find you. They will kill you."

I wonder if Rio will tell me something about Sherry. I can't remember, but I think Sherry was related by in-laws.

Judging by what town we're in, I should have time to try something. Choi didn't bat an eye when I unbuckled, climbing into the backseat. I've done it multiple times when I wanna nap.

"Will you turn the radio down?" I asked Choi. It's easier for me to focus when it's quiet. Choi smiled, turning the radio down and blowing the heat. I don't know how I just realized, it's fall. I remember at Willbrooke when we had recess, it was so much warmer than now.

I'm getting off topic, fuck I don't really wanna do this.

Laying down, I closed my eyes.

Focus, when was the last time I may have seen Aunt Sherry. It had to have been at the lake house, she hardly came to visit unless we met at the lake house.

How old would I have been? The photo dated 1998, so I was probably 6.

No one ever talked about the lake house before I nearly drowned. I have to remember some bits. There's no way I've forgotten everything.

Remember the photo, remember the face.

"Little Macy Lacy!" She called me that sometimes. I recall always seeing her lift her finger to make a shh face. Whenever mom or dad turned their backs.

Like we had an unspoken secret.

    "My favorite."

"Macy?" I flinched, recoiling away from Choi's outstretched arm. He raised a brow, giving me a worried look.

"I'm fine. Are we there?" I rubbed my eyes, seeing the sun was almost setting. Choi turned back, grabbing the steering wheel,

"Yes, I didn't know if you wanted to stop by somewhere first?" He asked me gently.

"No, I'm ok. I really wanna get there quickly." I told him, crawling back into the front seat. I buckled up, looking around out the window.

"Do you know who should be there waiting for you?" Choi asked. That's a good question. I got my phone out, calling dad.

    "Everything ok?"

"I'm fine, dad. Is Rio gonna be at the safe house waiting for me?"

"Rio and apparently Jack left to also be there. He got the address from Rio, so sorry you're gonna have to get along." Dad informed me.

"I'm ok with Jack staying with. Are you and mom gonna visit soon?" As I asked, Choi glanced at me. I wonder if he likes dad or if he's just buddies with mom.

"We'll be there as soon as we can. Then we can discuss more." Dad told me, but I could tell he's upset.

"Gotta go now, I see the house." Me and dad said goodbye and hung up.

I looked up, and pass the two curved-in trees is a beautiful country house.

"Not bad." I looked around, nothing but trees. Choi agreed, pulling up the driveway.

    "It's a trap!"

You think everything is a trap.

The front door opened before I even got out of the car.

Uncle Rio gave me a wide smile, waving his hand over.
