Zero Pov

"Why aren't we looking for her?"
I asked, confused.

"(Y/n) is strong"
Kaname said
"Even if we did try, where would we look?"

"Kaname's right,"
Headmaster said
"He wouldn't take (Y/n) somewhere on school grounds"

"We continue with classes,"
Kaname said
"Friday night, we can attempt to rescue her,"

I stormed out of the office. They had a point. Where would we even look?

The next day, I went to class, and I took notes for (Y/n). She wouldn't want it, but it makes me feel better. I feel like I'm helping her even though Kaname doesn't let me go search for her.

"Where's (Y/n) today?"
"You're right."
"First Yuki, now (Y/n)"
"Maybe a vampire ate them,"
I heard girls gossip in class

Thinking about (Y/n) made me feel a pit inside my stomach. After class, some girls approached me

"So.. where is (Y/n)?"
A girl asked

"She's sick,"
I said, walking past her

She followed behind me, asking more questions
"What kind of sickness?"

"None of your bussines"
I said

"She's sick with vampirism,"
A girl joked behind me

"Don't you think this joke has gotten a little old?"
I asked, glaring at them

"I mean.. sure"
"Why would you care, Zero?"

"I don't,"
I said
"That's the point."

I went on patrol. I walked around the school grounds. Maybe I'll pick up on her scent. I've lost hope at this point.

I went down to Yuki. Maybe I can get her to talk.

"Zero"
She said
"What a-"

"Shut up, Yuki."
I said, getting straight to the point
"Do you know where (Y/n) is or not?"

"And if I do,"
Yuki said
"Why would I tell you?"

"I'm not joking, Yuki."
I said, turning to walk away
"You don't know what you've done."

I walked out of there. Yuki has gone completely mad. You can't even have a full conversation with her anymore.

I went back to my dorm room. I sat down on my bed staring off into the distance.

I hope (Y/n)'s ok.

(Y/n) POV

The girl was escorted out by people I didn't know. I stared at the ceiling, my body wouldn't move.

"I see the girl's alive"
Rido said entering the room
"Why didn't you kill her?"

"She doesn't deserve to die"
I said emotionless

"But she deserves to become Level-E?"

My eyes widened. I forgot I was able to do that. Now she'll be suffering a fate worse than death.

"It's alright"
He said stroking my head
"We've already taken care of her"

My face returned to an expressionless emotion.
"Will I ever be able to leave?"
I asked glancing at him

"Yes"
He said
"But not soon. I need to know that you'll fight by my side"

"And if I refuse?"

"Then your heart belongs to the hunter association"

"Sounds beter than working for you"
I said
"I'd rather die"

"I've brought someone you might know"
Rido said
"He's from the nightclass"

I was excited for a second. I made sure not to show it to him.

"I'll ask him to bring you more blood in a few day. You'll need it by then, you've lost a lot of energy due to Yuki"
Rido said before leaving again

He's right. Even tho I had blood a few hours ago, I crave it again.

'Echo?'
'Echo please talk to me'

'I refuse'

'I said I'm sorry. I couldn't control myself'

'I know'
Echo said
'I don't blame you. I feel that You lust for more'

'Can you help me put of here?'

'Not in the state I'm in. I need time to rest, your body being drained is having an effect on me'

'I don't know what's wrong with me. I just had blood but I'm still weak'

'Seems that Rido knows this. That's why he's giving you human blood, After we got close to Yuki it was like the life was being sucked out of us. That's probably how she got into our head'

I said
'After a few days, we need to escape'
