Little smiles

Estella's POV
Last night was the worst night of sleep I've ever gotten, period, I couldn't get comfortable, I was freezing, I got up at some point in the middle of the night because I thought I was going to puke, and once I got to sleep the babies decided that it was time to party, and I felt so bad for beau because I kept using him as a personal heating pad
"Baby there's no reason for you to say sorry, I wasn't going to let you freeze all night," he said
"I wasn't that cold," I said crossing my arms
"Baby your nose felt like an ice cube" he argued
I spent the day going back and forth between playing with Skye and Luna and chatting with Emily, Luna is such a sweet and gentle little girl, she never raised her voice, and it was almost always hard to hear her, she loved to give hugs and to have her hair played with, and she was absolutely fascinated by the fact that she could see when the babies moved, I was sitting on the cream colored carpet leaning against the couch while Luna sat on her knees beside me, I had my t-shirt rolled up and tucked into the band of my sports bra so Luna could see when the babies moved
"Whoa!" Luna gasped as she saw my stomach move
I giggled
"That was a big one wasn't it," I said to Luna
"Mhm," she said as she nodded her head at me
Beau walked into the living room and smiled as he saw me and Luna on the floor
"What are you two girls doing?" Beau asked
Luna pointed at my stomach
"Watching the babies, what are you doing?" I asked Beau cocking my head to the side a little
"I came to see if you two were hungry," he said
Luna nodded her head at him
"Alright that makes one of you," he said
"A little," I told him
"Okay, Luna your mommy made chicken nuggets and fries for you and your brother," Beau told Luna
Luna used the couch to stand up and then ran to the kitchen, beau came and sat next to me on the floor, I leaned my head on his shoulder, closed my eyes, and sighed
"Something wrong love?" Beau asked me
"No," I said softly
"Tired?" He asked
"Mhm" I replied
"I can only imagine love," he said softly
Sitting here with Beau reminded me of the day we found out I was pregnant, I remember being extremely nervous, but now, I can't say I would change anything, about that day, about the days and weeks before, or anything after that day, I glanced up at beau and smiled, god I hope at least one of the babies has his beautiful golden brown hair
"What are you thinking about love?" He asked
"The babies, and you," I replied
"Me? But I'm sitting right here" he said jokingly
"That's not what I meant," I told him
"Well what did you mean then" he asked
"I was wondering if the babies would look like you," I said
"Or they could look like a mix between both of us," he said
I smiled at him
We sat there, not saying a word, it was quiet for a house with six people, two kids and one newborn, it was peaceful, I'm not completely sure how long we were sitting there, but it felt like the whole world had melted away and it was just me and beau sitting there together
"Baby?" I began after a while
"Yes love?" Beau replied
"I'm hungry," I told him with a smirk on my lips
He chuckled
"Is there anything specific that you want?" He asked
"Hm, oh! Apples with peanut butter" I said extremely fast, almost slurring my words together
"Alright love," he said with a chuckle
As he was walking into the kitchen Luna bent down and crawled between his legs, beau laughed as she got back up and ran back over to me and sat on her knees next to me, she pointed at my stomach, which I had pulled my shirt down while she was in the kitchen eating, I rolled my shirt back up and tucked it back into the band of my bra, she gently placed her hand on my stomach, I smiled to myself
"Where'd she go?" She babbled, I almost couldn't understand what she was saying
"Hm, I don't know, let's see—" I said
I gently poked at my stomach, trying to see if I could get them to move, one of them stretched on my right side, the side closest to Luna, she giggled, Emily came into the living room
"Oh Luna, leave Ella alone," Emily said as she put her hands on her hips
"She's fine Emily, she's fascinated that she can see the babies moving, that's all," I told her
"Are you sure?" Emily asked
"I'm positive, she's being so gentle and sweet," I told her
"Okay, as long as she's not bothering you," Emily said
"Oh no, she's not bothering me at all," I told Emily
Luna moved her hand, placing it lower on my right side, she smiled as the babies moved again, her little smile was so adorable, she would smile big enough to see all her teeth, she had a small gap between her two front teeth, she giggled, her giggle was so contagious when she started to laugh I couldn't help but to laugh too, it was one of the sweetest things I'd ever heard, when I finally looked up from Luna I saw beau standing in the entrance way of the kitchen, he was smiling at me and Luna, he walked over and handed me a little pink kids plate with apple slices and some peanut butter on it
"Thank you, baby," I told him
"You're welcome love, are the babies partying again?" He asked jokingly
"I think I made them mad," I said with a giggle
"Oh really?" He said smirking at me
"How'd you do that?" He added
"Well, Luna wanted to see them move so I poked them," I said giving him a guilty smile
"I'd probably be mad too," he said smiling
"Oh really?" I said before I poked his arm
"Good god your fingers are bony," he said
I chuckled at him
Luna sat there nearly all day watching the babies move, she would only get up if she had to, she was mesmerized, and she nearly had a whole meltdown when James came to tell her it was bedtime
"Luna come on, it's time to go to bed," James told her
"I don't wanna" she mumbled softly
"It's after ten Luna, time for bed," James said
"But I don't wanna go to bed, I wanna stay here with Ella" Luna told James softly
"I'll be here when you get up Luna," I told her as I ran my hand through her hair
"Okay," she said softly as she got up and went over to James
James picked her up and spun her in a circle before he carried her to bed, I felt bad that I would have to leave Luna in a few days, I knew it was going to break her little heart, when Beau came back from whatever he was doing he sat down next to me, I must've been visibly upset, beau used his finger to tilt my face to look at him, he raised his eyebrow
"Love what's wrong?" He asked
"Nothings wrong, it's just hormones" I lied
"Just hormones hm?" He said
"There's nothing else?" He added
"Not that I can think of" I lied again faking a smile
"Baby something is bothering you, I know it, what's wrong?" He asked again
"I told you it's just hormones" I tried to lie again
"Baby it's not just hormones, I can tell something is wrong, what is it," he said
"Okay fine, it's because, I know when we leave, it's going to break Luna's little heart," I told him
"Baby, I wish there was something I could do so all of us to be together all the time, but Emily and James live here, and there's no way I'm letting you leave Virginia before our parents have a chance to meet their grandkids," beau said
I started to sniffle and I knew it wouldn't be long before the tears came too, every part of me hurt, knowing that I was going to have to leave Luna and that it was going to hurt her, that it was going to hurt her more than any little kid should ever hurt
"I know, and I just wish that we could have it both ways but there's no way we can," I said as tears started to roll down my cheeks
Beau put his hands on either side of my face and wiped the tears off my cheeks then kissed my forehead
"Baby don't cry, we can come see them any time you'd like" Beau tried to reassure me
"But every time we leave it's going to hurt her all over again," I said as more tears started to fall
"Baby," Beau said as he pulled me into his arms
He kissed the top of my head and sat there holding me
