ALEKSANDER
"Hello?" Blake is disoriented, "what did you say?"
"I said Jessica is gone!" She speaks more clearly and I nearly topple over like a drunk man on my desk chair.
"What do you mean she is gone?" I stand, "how is she gone?"
"Well," Blake sounds rightfully nervous. "She saw the private jet, froze and asked for the bathroom. I offered to go with her but she said she'd meet me in the lounge. That was 30 minutes ago."
30 minutes?!
"And you're calling now?" It's been half an hour.
"I wanted to fix it before I alarmed you but we checked the CCTV footage and a car picked her up. She left her luggage and everything, I still have her passport and wallet."
"A car?" I am pacing around the room. "Okay, send me that footage and track that car."
"We did and it was rented by a Felix Vecker on Thursday, he is staying at the Four Seasons. We think that's where they are."
Felix Vecker?
As in her ex-boyfriend Felix Vecker?
"Thank you Blake, I'll take it from here." I press the red button and open the car app to order myself a vehicle.
I am at the Four Seasons in half the time it takes. I expect to throw a tantrum at the reception to get answers but the moment I walk in I spot Odessa in the lobby.
She is in formal and her slender figure is exposed in slim fit navy trousers, a black blouse with dark pointy heels. Even her hair is straight and only shows the diamond studs on her ears.
She looks very mature and different but sadder actually.
"Dr Henry." Vecker raises her hand to summon me and I walk to her after she says "over here."
"Hello Vecker," I look around the lobby. "Have seen you Jessica? I think she is with your brother," her ex-boyfriend.
"Yes, she is up in my room." I am surprised by her nonchalance.
"Okay," what about her brother?
"Have you tried calling her?" She sips her coffee and stares at me, "she has her phone with her you know."
I look up to check if there is a literal dark cloud over her head. I can't put my finger on it but something seems really wrong with Odessa, she wasn't Miss Sunshine when we met but she wasn't this gloomy.
"No I haven't but I doubt she'd answer," I still pull out my phone and dial.
"I don't know." Vecker smirks the moment Jessica answers. "She might surprise you," and moves away when I put the phone to my ear.
"Jessica?" I am trying to control my voice but I am very angry.
"Yes Alek," she sounds Irish which means she is angry too.
"Where are you?" I move further away. "And why did your ex just pick you up from—"
"Your hooker plane? Oh sorry," she fakes a snort. "Private jet. The answer is he didn't, Vecker did. Anymore questions boss?"
My jaw ticks at boss.
"I have several, I am downstairs." I look at the elevators. "Can we speak?"
"No," she is no doubt pouting.
"Jessica—" I pinch the bridge of my nose.
"Remember what I said, about being done?" The Irish accent is thicker than it has ever been. "You got me a fucking private jet after kicking me out. Do you have any idea how cheap that made me feel?"
