I gave a signal to my band, counting in from three before the song started up, and I quickly grabbed my harmonica from my pocket to open the song before singing.

"Katy," I said, with just enough time before I had to start singing. "You, are my face to call home," I finished, causing the crowd to go wild.

"... I'm an architect
Of days that haven't happened yet
I can't believe a month is all it's been
You know my paper heart
The one I filled with pencil marks
I think I might've gone and inked you in

Little by little, inch by inch
We built a yard with a garden in the middle of it
It ain't much but it's a start
You got me swaying right along to the song in your heart
And a face to call home
A face to call home
You got a face to call home

So good you didn't see
The nervous wreck I used to be
You'd never know a man could feel so small
And you never look at me
Like I'm a liability
I bet you think I've never been at all

Little by little, inch by inch
We built a yard with a garden in the middle of it
And it ain't much, but it's a start
You got me swaying right along to the song in your heart

And a face to call home
A face to call home
You got a face to call home

A face to call home
A face to call home
You got a face to call home

Maybe I could stay a while,
Maybe I could stay a while,
Maybe I could stay a while,
I'm talkin' like all of the time

(Maybe I could stay a while)
Little by little, inch by inch,
(Maybe I could stay a while)
We built a yard with a garden in the middle of it,
(Maybe I could stay a while)
And it ain't much, but it's a start,
(I'm talkin' like all of the time)
You got me swaying right along to the song in your heart

And a face to call home
A face to call home
You got a face to call home..."

I stared at Katy the entire time, as I saw her wipe tears that were falling down her face as she smiled up at me, looking as vulnerable as ever. My smile widened as she placed her hands on her stomach, swaying along to the song. Her beautiful smile was something I couldn't take my eyes off of... She was radiant, glowing under the soft lighting of the theatre.

I loved her so much, more than I could ever possibly say. I never knew I could change into the man I am today, thanks to her. She was my everything.

I went through the rest of the show perfectly, making no errors. I felt confident, and in fact it was probably one of the best shows I've ever done. I liked playing intimate crowds... That just suited me much more as a performer. Katy hummed along to the tunes of the songs I played afterward just like anyone else in the crowd, though I didn't particularly care about the delivery of them, I only cared about her.

"Thank you, Los Angeles! I love you!" I said as I finished my set, walking off the stage with my guitar. I noticed Katy had disappeared from the crowd, and I hoped I could catch her somehow before she went home. I walked towards my dressing room, thanking my band and management team as I did so. I took the guitar strap from around my neck as I reached the door to my room, opening it with my free hand.

Almost instantly I was met with Katy's lips on mine, catching me by surprise. Her strawberry flavoured lip gloss had never tasted so good, and I felt myself deepening the kiss as I closed the door behind me, wrapping my hands around her petite waist, her familiar scent of candy smelling perfume making me want her even more.
