Chapter 16:

~(Jade's POV) I walked to second period with an idea stirring in my head. As I sat in class and Ms. Wes took roll, I realized that Stephanie was absent. I started to get really worried. I hoped and prayed that it was just a coincidence that she's absent after all the events that have occurred. I took a deep breath and tried to let it not bother me. Maybe she's just sick. Or late. Maybe she's just sad. Maybe I should drop by her house after school to talk to her. Oh crap! After school the results for the play are posted! I got jittery at the thought of making it in. Then at the thought of Niall making it into the play...hmm. I tried to shift my focus on the lesson of triangles and angles and all that crap I don't care about, I just couldn't pay attention and ended up sneakily playing music in my earphones through my jacket sleeve. The Black Keys and Good Charlotte seemed to make the period be able to go faster. As second period ended and the bell for break rang, I decided I could start to put my plan into effect. I walked a different route to my locker, the route I usually avoid, and ran into Niall. "Hi," I said, smiling. I saw Louis out of the corner of my eye at his locker, and my smile widened. Don't push it. "Hey princess," Niall smirked back, putting some books into his locker. "Back to princess again?" I asked flirtatiously. He seemed to catch the change in my drift. "I will call you whatever you want, Jade," he said, poking my cheek with his free hand. That was the first time he called me by my real name...maybe I could get used to this. No no no no! This isn't a plan to get in a relationship with Niall. This is to give Louis a taste of his own medicine. Niall closed his locker, "where you headed?" He asked. "My locker," I said dominantly, indirectly telling him to come with me. He followed Half a step behind me, which always makes me nervous. I don't know why, but I hate when people walk behind me. I feel so...vulnerable.I saw Louis still at his locker, but his head was down, acting like he was looking at his phone. Puhlease, I know he's watching Niall and I. I reached my locker and tried opening it with Niall's gorgeous eyes staring at me. "What are you staring at, blondie?" I asked. His face turned red and he looked down. I'd never seen him so...non-jerk-Ish. I reached to put the book at the top of my locker, my crop top barely showing my stomach. I was on m tiptoes and all of my books almost collapsed on me as I lost my balance. "Shit!" I said as they all fell on the floor. I heard Niall let out a soft chuckle, and Louis was busting up laughing across the quad. Very subtle, Lou. I turned and glared at him, his smile instantly fading. Niall was already bent over, helping me pick up my books. "Thanks," I said, my face heating up at my embarrassment. "It's ok, love," he said, putting a book in my locker. He stepped behind me as I put my books in my locker again. "Let me help you this time," he whispered as he had a hand on my hip, keeping my balance, and another guiding my hand to put the book at the top part of my locker. I got chills under his touch, and I so badly wanted to just curl up Into his strong arms. But I had to keep my willpower. I took a breath and I turned around and Nialls hands were still loosely on my hips. "Thanks Niall," I said, kissing him on the cheek. He blushed again. God, he's adorable when he's like this. "Hey, Jade," said an annoying Louis to the right of us, clearing his throat. #playthegamefanfic
