After my talk with Mom, I decided I needed to talk to my best friend. So I called Beth and asked her to come over.
When she got here I told her what my Mom had said.
"So what do you think?"
Suddenly she pulled out her laptop and started typing.
"Beth what are you doing?" I asked.
"I found this. 'If you love two people at the same time, choose the second. Because if you really loved the first one, you wouldn't have fallen in love with the second one' - Johnny Depp" she said.
"I didn't love Tom" I protested.
"That's not the point. If you were going out with him and you still fell in love with Jack, it's kind of the same logic"
"What?" Stunned. I was truly stunned. And a little shocked.
"You love Jack" she said simply, as if it was the most obvious thing in the world.
"What? No I don't"
"P-lease, I'm not stupid. I always knew you two had something special. Admittedly I never thought it was love up until recently but I knew you were always extremely close"
"That doesn't mean anything" I said.
I don't love Jack, do I?
"Whatever, but you love him"
I didn't respond.
Do I?
