42. Boys Talk

Ushijima POV
(Next Day- Lunch)

Today is a regular day in school and right now I'm eating lunch with Tendou because all the first years, including Amu, have to do a physical education assessment during their lunch. Amu sent me a text to not to come visit her during lunch so here I am with Tendou who eagerly invited me to eat with him.

"Wakatoshi-kun, can't you believe the ending of the movie? The cliffhanger made me on the edge of my seat!" Tendou spazzes and I tilt my head.

"... What were we talking about again?" I ask him and Tendou's mouth drops.

"Sadako the movie~ I was watching it after you came home from your birthday date with Amu. Don't you remember?" Tendou questions and I shake my head.

"I don't remember," I answer.

Was I suppose to remember?

Tendou sighs. "Fine I'll recap everything. The movie was super scary, but the reason why I ended up watching it was because of the leading actress, Brunhilde Reiko! She's super cute~"

"I see," I answer and continue to eat my food.

"Isn't she cute? Brunhilde Reiko," Tendou grins.

"I don't know who that is," I straightforwardly tell him.

"..." Tendou stares at me with a deadpanned look. "You know Wakatoshi-kun do you know any other girl besides Amu," he questions and I nod my head.

"I do. It's just that Amu is the only one that I pay close attention to because she's my girlfriend. Why do you ask?" I question.

"Because you never look like you're having fun or focusing on anything in particular except when you're following Amu around~" Tendou bluntly states.

"So rude!" Semi shouts.

I turn to see Ohira, Semi, and Yamagata coming over to eat with us.

"So how did celebrating each other's birthdays go?" Ohira asks me as he takes a seat down next to me.

"It went fine, I let Amu choose which smartphone she would want to have for her birthday," I tell them and they sweatdrop.

"Wait you went to the store to buy a smartphone with her knowing that she could basically see the price of each smartphone..." Semi clarifies and I nod my head.

"..." They all stare at me with a deadpanned expression.

"It must have been a nightmare for Amu to be forced to pick a smartphone and have her boyfriend willingly pay for it," Yamagata mutters.

"Amu also made me a birthday cake and told me that she would call me Waka-kun for now on," I add and their eyes widen.

"I still can't believe that Wakatoshi got a girlfriend before me~" Tendou whines. "I know I would be great boyfriend material. My girlfriend would feel like she's the luckiest girl on earth."

"I doubt it. If you ever get a girlfriend then I'll feel bad for her," Ohira bluntly comments with a smile on his face.

<Savage.> Yamagata and Semi think to themselves while I'm just confused whether or not that comment was negative or positive.

Yamagata turns to me. "At least you had a good date," he grins and happily pats me on the back.

"Ne Wakatoshi-kun, how far has your relationship progressed with Amu?" Tendou asks and everyone turns to him in shock.
