55. A Parent's Understanding

Amu POV
(Last Day of Spring High Preliminaries) 

"Shiratorizawa! Clap Clap Clap ~ Clap Clap ~ Shiratorizawa! Clap Clap Clap ~ Clap Clap ~" Our side cheers and the drum rolls. "All right, here we go! Our opponent today is Karasuno High school~ Nice to meet you~ All right, here we go!" They continuously cheer and I sigh.

It's amazing how so many people come to cheer for them. I don't think I would ever have the guts to cheer like how they volunteer to do so, but the reason I'm here today is to cheer for Wakatoshi and the boys volleyball team who made it to the finals.

I turn to Kimiko. "Thanks for accompanying me here today Kimiko," I tell her and she shakes her head.

"It's fine. I would have come here anyways to watch Shoyo and Natsuki's finals matches today," Kimiko smiles.

"I wish it was us out there today," I tell her as I look out the court.

"I do too," Kimiko says nodding her head in agreement.

"But the truth is, I never would have thought that Shiratorizawa and Karasuno would go against each other again for the Boys' Finals," I blurt out my true thoughts and Kimiko giggles.

"Like a rematch," Kimiko says as she looks out the courts.

"That's true," I smile.

I look out at the court and see Wakatoshi practicing his spikes. I give him a small wave and he gives me a small wave back at me.

After he waves to me, I see Tendou nudging him and trying to tease him about it.

I chuckle and look at the stadium.

The finals. The final match we would have gone to if we won Karasuno.

I know the boys are excited for today's match. They're one match away to the Spring Tournament in Tokyo. Yet after seeing our match yesterday, I know they're not going to underestimate Karasuno's volleyball skills.

The whistle suddenly blows and the two teams gather to their sides.

"We will now begin the Japanese National High School Volleyball Tournament, Miyagi Prefecture Qualifiers, Boys' Finals." The announcers announces from the microphone. "Miyagi Prefectural Karasuno High School versus Shiratorizawa Academy."

Everyone claps and the cameras are filming this everywhere. Kimiko and I clap along with everyone else.

"We will now introduce the Karasuno High School starting line up. #1 Sawamura Daichi. #3 Azumane Asahi. #5 Tanaka Ryunosuke. #9 Kageyama Tobio. #10 Hinata Shoyo. #11 Tsukishima Kei. #4, Libero, Nishinoya Yu. And Coach, Takeda Ittetsu."

The announcers introduce the players from Karasuno one by one. They come out and clap their coaches' and manager's hands then line up on the courts.

"Next we will introduce the Shiratorizawa Academy starting line up. #1 Ushijima Wakatoshi. #4 Ohira Leon. #5 Tendou Satori. #8 Goshiki Tsutomu. #10 Shirabu Kenjiro. #12 Kawanishi Taichi. #14, Libero, Yamagata Hayato. And Coach, Washijo Tanji."

The announcers introduce the players from Shiratorizawa one by one. They come out and clap their coaches' and manager's hands then line up on the courts.

"Ladies and Gentlemen, please cheer on both teams and wish them the best," the announcer tells the audience and my heart races.
