Ushijima POV
(End of match)

The game with Karasuno ended as a loss for us. I didn't expect it to be a loss, but it resulted in one. My teammates were all crying, but for me all I could think about was how I wanted to say 'I'm stronger than you' but couldn't.

Maybe it's childish of me, but that's how I feel right now.

Coach Washijo clears his throat. "We'll have a meeting when we get back so once the awards ceremony is over, get onto the bus."

"Right." We answer.

"Later, you'll also be hitting a hundred serves," Coach Washijo adds and we all reluctantly agree to that as well.

Coach Washijo comes over and pats me on the shoulder. "And Wakatoshi, there is a man who would like to meet with you right now in this hallway," Coach Washijo tells me and I nod my head.

"Oh~ Wakatoshi-kun is in trouble," Tendou jokingly says as he watches me go with Coach Washijo.

I follow Coach Washijo into the hallway and see a familiar man standing in the hallway waiting for me. Coach Washijo directs me there and leaves me. I walk towards the man waiting for me.

The man has a sturdy build with light brown hair and he's little smaller than me, but for some reason he gives off this familiar feel like I known him for my entire life.

"Wakatoshi that was great match out there!" The man grins and my eyes widen seeing the resemblance of this man's smile and the smile of the past with my father.

"Father..." I mumble realizing that the man standing in front of me is my father.

A huge smile forms on his face. "It's been a long time Wakatoshi."

"What are you doing here?" I asked a little surprised to see him here in Japan.

He's suppose to be in America. I never knew anything else about him after he left so why is he here...

"Business!" My father happily answers and looks at me from top to bottom. "You grown up so much Wakatoshi! You're even taller than me now!" He says as measures himself to me.

"I have..." I say out loud not knowing how to continue the conversation.

A small smile forms on his face. "Your mother and I were watching your match just now and I could never be so proud of you!" My father tells me as he pats me on the back.

"You watching my match together?" I question surprised and he shakes his head startled.

"We didn't plan it or anything. It was just a coincidence that we just happen to meet today," my father says shaking his head.

"Oh," I answer.

So she did come today.

"It's thanks to your girlfriend that your mother came. Your girlfriend must be something to persuade her to come over and watch your game," he laughs.

"She is," I tell him with an appreciative smile after hearing how he seems to like Amu.

"Aw my son is so cute!" My father wraps his arm around me and gives me a tight squeeze. "You definitely know how to pick them!"
