Shreya's Pov

A WEEK HAD passed and a week was still to go for Aarav to come back home. It had become a routine to talk to each other whenever we were free. Either we would text, call or skype each other.

I looked in the mirror at my reflection. I was wearing a blue anarkali today. It was Aarav's favourite colour but he said red suited me more. But then again, red suited most of the women. I applied vermillion and an eye liner as I grabbed my phone to text 'good morning' to Aarav.

Picking up my white coat and bag, I made my way downstairs. I kissed Maa and Aunt Neela on their cheeks and drank the juice which was placed on the dining table. Grabbing an apple from the fruit basket, I took the keys from the drawer.

"Shreya, sit and eat", Maa scolded.

"I am getting late, Maa", I protested.

"Sit down", she said sternly and I sat down on the chair grumpily.

"Your tiffin", Aunt Neela said as she handed me my lunch box.

"Auntie, why did you prepare my tiffin? I would have be fine", I said frowning.

"No arguments about food", Neela Auntie said sternly.

I sighed knowing the discussion was over.

"Bhabhi, I will drop you to clinic", Rishabh said and I just nodded in response knowing it would be useless arguing with him.

_____________

"GIVE HER THESE medicines, her fever will subside", I instructedd as I wrote the prescription on the paper and gave it to the woman.

"Thank you, Dr. Chauhan", she said smiling.

"It's Shah", I corrected her.

"You are married?", the woman asked surprised.

I nodded.

"That's why your clinic was closed for so many months?"

"Um.. yes", I replied uneasily.

"Congratulations", she said before leaving the clinic with her daughter.

There weren't any patients for the time being so I decided to call Aarav. It was one in the afternoon. I dialled his number, knowing it was his lunch time. I played with my ring as I  waited to hear his melodic voice.

The voice I was in love with, the voice which eased all my fears and was a soothing lullaby to my ears.

After two rings, Aarav answered the call.

"Hello beautiful", I heard him say and I instantly blushed at the nickname.

"Hello handsome", I retorted.

The sound of Aarav's chuckles filled my ears making an entire zoo erupt in my stomach.

"How are you?"

"How can I be fine without my husband?", I said biting the insides of my cheeks.

"Are you flirting with me, Mrs Shah?"

I could imagine him smile with amusement.

"Yeah, wouldn't dare to flirt with some other guy", I said biting my lower lip.
