Chapter 25- Haylee's POV
"I think it's time to go." I whispered to Shawn, on tipi toes considering he was taller than me.
"I think it is not." Said Shawn, looking directly at my eyes making me nervous.
"Well I think it is." I said.
"Haylee, you are so beautiful." Shawn blurted out suddenly. What had just happened?
"Thank you very much, Mendes." I said chuckling, out of nervousness, while blushing.
"I also think you're beautiful."Blurted a sudden voice. Out of reflex I immediately split from Shawn's chest; we seemed one person, now split into two. Only to turn around and was shocked to find out it was the one and only Nash Grier.
"Thanks, Nash." I told him, grinning. I was happy. But Shawn's somehow meant way more to me.
"My pleasure." He said.
"I really need to go. I need to be at the hospital by 10, so I can get my next doze of pills." I stated, knowing everyone else was refusing to go at this early time in the night.
"We could take a taxi there." Said Shawn. And the idea sounded way more than pleasing. I was definitely up to that.
"Or I could drive you there. So you enjoy the party a little more, Shawn." Nash said, a little rude tone on his voice.
"No, I think I have had enough. I'm so tired." Said Shawn.
"Ugh, same." I said, yawning a little bit.
"Why don't we all just take a taxi there?" Offered Shawn, always giving us wise solutions to our problems.
"I'll call, they'll be here in a jiff." Said Nash, moving away from us, while picking up his iPhone to call a taxi company.
"It was a pleasure to dance with you, my lady." Said Shawn, kneeling down and grabbing my hand. He kissed my hand slowly with his pink lips, and I was glad. More than glad.
"Oh my god! What is Carter doing?" Shawn said, killing that small romance inside my mind.
To my right, I saw Carter Reynolds kissing a girl. Not Mary Cate. No, not at all. It was not her. It was a Mary Cate lookalike. They were close together, too close. It was not even one of those beautiful, romantic kisses it was sloppy and disgusting. I wanted to puke, barely looking at that.
They are taking it the next level tonight, I thought.
"Okay, I called. They'll be here in ten minutes, max. So I guess we should go wait for them outside." Said Nash, coming towards us.
"Yes, let's go." Shawn said, so while we walked to the entrance of the restaurant, I quickly texted Nat and Leah, telling them I was leaving.
"It's here." Said Shawn, pointing at a cab- already half asleep.
"Okay leggo, motherfuckers." I said, unexpectedly.
"Wow. Haylee is you hyper? Or nah?" Said Nash, shocked, while clicking his tongue. I usually do not swear in front of people, who are not my parents.
"You know it." I said, laughing hard.
We got in the yellow taxi cab. I was in the middle, Shawn to my left and Nash to my right. We begun a conversation about movies, which ended up in us taking selfies; and, of course, Nash needed to Vine about it. So I ended up, miraculously, being part of my idol's Vine. Shawn soon fell asleep, he did look very tired for most of the party. He looked so cute sleeping, like an angel.
Well he was my angel.
"Haylee, this is it." Said Nash, just staring at the hospital entrance.
"Yes, let's go. I'm so tired." I said, while yawning.
"Same. Alright then." Nash said.
We got off the cab, and walked to the entrance of the hospital. Suddenly before we entered the doorway, Nash held my hand. Letting us stand right in front of each other, a bit awkwardly to be honest.
"Haylee...I wanted to let you know that even if you were date, I have no romantic interest in you. Please don't interpret this wrong. You are a beautiful and amazing girl, and I believe we can be great friends. But I sort of have...been falling for someone else. I'm sorry, if I got your hopes up. But I assure you, your Prince Charming is closer to you than you think he is." He nodded towards-sleeping- Shawn in the car.
Nash also knew Shawn was my Prince Charming.
I smiled, and so did he. Suddenly it al fit in my head: the way he looked at McKenzie while drinking punch, the way he sort of wanted me to make her jealous, the way I was not even close to replace her, the way he wanted to tell me we were just friends since the dance; that's why he was desperate to drop me off alone, to tell me this personally.
"Don't worry at all, Nash. I saw how you looked at her. You like her, and that's completely fine. I think we can be great friends." I said, extending my arms.
And so then, Nash and I hugged. It was my first hug with a guy friend.
It felt great.
I entered the hospital, and went to my room 377. I drank the two pills that my mom had left on my night stand. Now she was calmly sleeping on my couch. I put on my pajama and lay on my bed, in the darkness.
Just wondering.
Would every day now be this great?
~~~~~~
Hey! So I just wanted to leave clear that Nash and Haylee are not going to be together. But a beautiful friendship will flourish from them two...maybe. I am glad for all the support I have received from you beautiful girls. I thank y'all. Next chapter's dedication goes to a comment on this chapter.
25 chapters y'all! And still so much to go! I love y'all so much. Stay strong, beautiful.
