When the cheesecake was done I took it outside where everyone was at. "Cake has been served your majesty," I chuckled as I set the cheesecake down.

"It's about time," Michael teased. "Now serve me some."

I rolled my eyes playfully. "I swear, if we weren't friends, I'd have killed you by now." I grabbed a paper plate and plastic fork. Then I used a knife to cut it into slices. I got a piece for Michael and kneeled down in front of him. "Your majesty."

"Why don't I get to be treated like that?" Josh pouted playfully.

"Get if yourself," I teased as I flopped down on a chair.

Josh did an over exaggerated gasp. "She's mean."

I laughed a little. "Yes, I'm the devil."

"I knew it! Someone get the holy water," Alex chimed.

"Nope. No holy water is allowed," I crossed my arms.

"Wait, if we splashed her with holy water, who would make the cheesecake?" Tyler chimed.

"Who's side are you on?!" I exclaimed.

"He makes a valid point," Mary chuckled.

I chuckled a little but didn't say anything. I closed my eyes and tried to relax. But relaxing was never an option. I began to think about everything that's happened. This wasn't right. None of those was right. My grandpa was dead. My dad was arrested. I was having a casual day with my kidnappers. This wasn't right. Why was my life so screwed up? I felt my breathing increase and my heart rate speed up. I sat up more as I tried to regulate my breathing.

"Violet, are you okay?" Misty asked. Everyone turned towards me.

"Uh, yeah. I'm fine," I stated. It felt like my world was slowly collapsing. Was this even real?

I felt a hand touch my shoulder and I jumped. I looked over and saw it was Tyler. "Are you sure you're okay? You look pale."

I nodded my head. Then I quickly stood up. "I-I'm just going to go for a short walk." I quickly raced off the porch before anyone could stop me. I walked quickly down the long driveway, not turning back. I just needed to clear my mind.

My emotions were a jumbled mess. I couldn't think straight. I was back with my brother. Everything should be fine, right? Other than the fact my dad was in prison for life. Or the fact I had been kidnapped. Or the fact I fell for one I'd my kidnappers.

I stopped dead in my tracks at the last thought. No. That's not right. I don't like him like that. He's just a friend. A friend who kidnapped me. I thought back to the hospital. I told him I wanted him to stay. I let out a long sigh as I kept walking. I just needed a break from everything. The others were probably worried about me, but I didn't care.

Then I stopped on the roadside and collapsed. I couldn't take it anymore. Tears streamed from my eyes. Why me? Why did I have to go through all this? I moved father from the road and by some trees. I leaned my back against a tree so I was hidden from the road.

"I'm sorry," I muttered to myself. "I'm sorry I failed. I let everyone down. My mom. My brother. Everyone. I made stupid mistakes. I care about them all. I care about my kidnapper. More than I should. That shouldn't happen. I'm putting more stress on my brother. And I'm just ruining all their lives. They don't deserve this." I let out a long sigh as squeezed my eyes shut, letting a tear trail down my cheek.

"Violet?" I heard a voice. I froze up and sat completely still. I quickly tried to wipe the tears from my eyes. Then Alex came over and crouched down next to me. "You have done nothing to ruin our lives. Nothing that's happened is your fault. I promise that things will get better. If you're willing to forgive Josh and Tyler, then I trust your judgement." He wrapped his arms around me and pulled me into a tight hug. I looked over his shoulder and saw Tyler standing there. My eyes went wide and my face flushed red in embarassment. How much had they heard? "Let's head back so the others don't worry," Alex said. I nodded my head. He helped me stand up and we started walking.

"How'd you guys find me?" I questioned.

"Oh, um, we sorta followed you. To make sure you were okay," Alex chuckled. I rolled my eyes and smiled a little. Then Alex slowed his pace so Tyler was next to me. I felt my face heat up a bit.

"So," Tyler began awkwardly. "Um, are you okay?"

"Yeah," I replied. "I'm fine. I was just a little overwhelmed for a moment."

"If I'm causing you stress or anything, just tell me, and I can leave," Tyler frowned.

"No!" I said, a little too quickly. I felt my face heat up. "I mean, n-no, I don't want you to leave."

Tyler chuckled half-heartedly. "I'm sorry about all of this. I feel terrible. I ruined your life. I shouldn't be here."

Without warning, I pulled Tyler into a tight hug. "As crazy as it sounds, you're one of the best things in my life right now. I really care about you Tyler. Please, don't ever leave me."

Tyler let out a sigh. "I care about you too Violet. I don't know how you can be so forgiving."

'Me neither,' I thought to myself.
