EDIT: initially I forgot to make it clear that the reader was a child, and I apologise. I was like 12/13 when I wrote this fic and so this wasn't me being creepy about a minor. Sorry for any confusion or upset!

There aren't nearly enough fics for my perfect boy.
Fic title: Book Buddies

2nd Person POV

You were known for being the weird kid who sat in the library at lunch.
Off the bat, that doesn't seem too weird, does it? So what if you like to read?
Except you never read. You only sat and stared at a certain blue-haired boy.
However, today was a day where you actually were doing something. 'Simple' d/s (difficult subject) revision as the teacher had called it.
D/s and 'simple' were oxymorons, to put it lightly.
"Hey, Y/N? You look... confused." A voice said from over your shoulder. Jumping slightly, you relaxed to see it was only Nagisa. "D/s, huh? It's not so bad once you get the method down. Here, look..."
Loosening his scarf slightly, he took a seat beside you and started flicking through your notebook. He pointed at a line. "That answer came close."
Honestly, you replied. "I... kind of guessed."
"I see. Well, I think you just need to look over the method again."
After showing you what to do, you actually got the hang of it. He'd correct any incorrect answers, until you'd cleared the first page of questions. He had the patience of a saint, and you found yourself smiling slightly.
"If you don't mind me asking," Nagisa began, flipping a page and not looking up, "why don't you ever come over and talk to me?"
"T-Talk to you?"
"You know, the thing that humans do when they need something? I... don't like people watching me." He seemed distant for a heartbeat, before he shook his head. "Sorry, let's keep working."
You ended up clearing a ton of questions before the end of lunch.
"Hey, we should exchange numbers. In case I need help again, y'know?" You proposed, trying to tiptoe around any possible questions with lame excuses.
He looked at me dead in the eyes, reading my mind, before scribbling a string of numbers on the back of my hand. "See you later, Y/N."
He didn't look back as he walked off, and you could swear you heard your heart crack a bit.
"Thanks, Nagisa."

-timeskip brought to you by masaru's arrogance-

Two years went by in what felt like two seconds. You two were now known collectively as the 'Book Buddies'. You both laughed of the name, due to its lack in creativity, but each of you secretly liked it.
"Nagisa, I need to... uh... tell you something."
"Go ahead..."
His patience hadn't gotten any worse.
"I just want you to know, that, um... God, this is going to sound weird..." you hesitated for a second, thinking yours words through, but the lines jumbled in your head. "...I'm here for you, even if you don't like me back."
"Like you back? What?"
You thought over your words, before panicking. "Damn it, I meant to confess before I said that part! Crap!"
He knew what you meant and fist bumped you.
"S-Sorry, I have no idea what I'm doing." He mumbled.
"Take it slow?
"Take it slow."

Bonus!

Masaru, who'd just found the two in the library and caught the end of the conversation, chimed in with , "That's what she said!" Before being hit in the head with one of Nagisa's thesauruses. The end.
