Fic title: Script Stealers.

Y/N's POV

I did not have time for any of this.
It was a week away from the magic show and I had yet to learn my lines. Usually I could master them for under a week, but the strangest thing happened.
My script vanished.
It was on my desk, and poof.
Gone.
Yes, I was in a killing game. Was this a weird form of bait? Should I risk it?
Before I knew the answer to that question, I was stalking the halls for the culprit.
A flash of purple hair rounding the corner piqued my intrigue. I peered around and, as expected, Kokichi Oma was also taking a walk through the halls. In his spindly little hands was my script.
I saw nothing but red.
"Kokichi Oma!" I declared loudly. "I demand that you hand over the script!"
He spun around on one foot and stuck his tongue out. It was dyed purple from all of the Panta he'd been drinking. "Nope."
I sighed, rolling up my sleeves. "Alright. Just don't say I didn't warn you."
That's when it all began.
Our feet pounded in the hallways, taunts and yells echoing through the school. I didn't stop running when Kirumi asked me what was up; I didn't stop when Kiibo confusedly asked us what we were doing; and I could not stop when Kokichi kept teasing me.
The purple-haired student rounded another corner, and I simply had to catch my breath. It would be easier just to ask Kirumi if I could get another script. As I turned to sulk back to my dorm in defeat, a cloth was placed over my mouth. The world spun into a dizzying darkness.

Kokichi's POV

No swift footsteps were pattering behind me. Did she really give up so easily? Wow, what a joke!
I glanced behind me and slowed to a jog, turning around to go and find her. I won, so I might as well brag. That's just how DICE works, I suppose.
She wasn't in the halls. I frowned and went to check her dorm room. I looked at the script in my hand. She definitely had some interesting lines prepared. I figured that I'd be the noble one to return her script to her.
Then, I saw Ryoma's Lab's door slam shut. He was talking to himself.
"Someone... someone..." I couldn't make it all out.
I creaked open the door and saw him. Ryoma Hoshi with a dead Y/N L/N.
I swallowed my screams and felt rage fuel my next move. I kicked the door open to draw attention to myself.
"Shortstack!" I barked.
He spun around and let Y/N fall limp to the floor. Her arm twitched. Wait, she was dead, wasn't she? She had to be!
His eyes were puffy. "K-Kokichi, you don't understand, I need to get out of here."
I picked him up by the collar (I'd always wanted to do that but my height often stopped me) and glared knives. "By stooping so low as this?!"
"I... I need to know that someone out there cares for me..."
"Well did you ever think about how people care for Y/N? You're taking that away from me!" I quickly corrected myself, clearing my throat. "I-I mean 'them'. You're taking that away from them."
Ryoma squirmed out of my grip.
I smirked down at him (again, something I'd always wanted to do but my height wouldn't allow). "Oh, what are you gonna do, bite my ankles off?"
Y/N stirred more. Her eyes blinked open. They lit up the moment everything clicked - kidnapping, betrayal, someone rescuing her.
But who was the traitor and who was the saviour?
Y/N sat up and grabbed a knife which Ryoma was probably going to use on the actress She stumbled over to the door and locked it, standing in front of it.
"Which one of you tried to kill me?!"
Ryoma immediately tensed. "Kokichi, obviously. I heard him coming down the hall and—"
Y/N didn't pull any punches. She knocked him to the ground. "Asshole. Kokichi was running away from me when I passed out."
"Such a bad lie." I tutted.
The tennis pro struggled and squirmed. "You won't kill me."
Y/N's knife glinted. She stabbed him.
"That's where you're wrong, Hoshi."
The convulsing student beneath her trembled to a stop, and Y/N's bloody hands pressed against the ground.
She looked at me. "Kokichi. Survive. I can't act my way out of this one."

Narrator's POV

The trial was quick and easy. Kokichi truly did try to defend Y/N (and even initiated an Argument Armament in her defence) only to be met with her conviction.
"Wait! Wait! Hold the verdict!" Kokichi demanded. Y/N looked over at him.
"Yes, Kokichi?" She whispered.
He handed her the bloodied script. "Y-Your script. For your final performance."
Y/N smiled down at the script. All of the other students figured she'd completely lost it, but she was staring down at what Kokichi wrote.

I will act strong for the others and survive. I love you. This isn't a lie.
