(O/S) A Final Visit To Hope's Peak Academy

Hope's Peak had been gone for about a year when Shuichi Saihara decided to return. Maybe it was because he felt an unsettling feeling deep in his stomach that he hadn't settled things. Maybe it was a part of him that yearned to see Kaede again. Maybe he just needed quiet.
What he was not expecting was for Maki Harukawa and Himiko Yumeno to be there, too.
See, the three hadn't spoken in quite a while. They'd gone their separate ways. Sure, they had each other's phone numbers, but they only really called when they needed support. That support was usually given at three a.m. with at least one person, if not both, crying down the line. They never talked, they grieved.
They were quite a way away from the gravestones, taking them all in at once. Occasionally, as he stood their in the entrance to what the Outside World had named The Hope's Peak Dome for Grieving Saviours, he heard Himiko choke out a sob. Maki would sniff but scarcely blink.
Shuichi moved from the entrance towards the graves, readjusting his hat on his head. He'd fallen back into the habit of wearing a hat, mostly because of the sun and partially because it reminded him of his new self.
None of them, from what Shuichi knew, ever found out their true personalities, their old selves. So, they embraced themselves, their new selves. Who knew, maybe they got better from their old lives?
Shuichi placed his hat on a very certain grave, the grave of a deceased piano player. He glanced up and down, wondering why Maki and Himiko hadn't come closer, when he realised something kind of strange.
The dirt laid over each grave was suspiciously fresh. Like... it'd been moved. Dug up.
He stood, perplexed and trying to make sense of the situation, looking down at each grave and inspecting from a distance.
He then felt a weight leap onto his back. "Boo!"
He screamed, covering his mouth and spinning around, throwing whoever or whatever was on his back to the ground. When his mind stopped spinning and began making sense of things again, he realised something.
The purple hair.
He pale skin.
The monochrome clothes.
The slight 'nishishi~' that slipped from his mouth. "Gotcha!"
Kokichi Oma. Kokichi goddamn Oma in the undead uncrushed flesh.
Then, another voice. "It's about time my sidekick got back into action!"
The gravity-defying hair.
The heartwarming grin.
The long coat.
The luminary of the stars. "Shu, you look like you've seen a ghost!"
Kaito Momota. Kaito Momota in the goddamn place he'd died just a year prior.
It started happening all too fast. More faces cropping up from seemingly nowhere, so many voices from seemingly nowhere.
"For once I'm actually happy to see a degenerate male!"
"Yay! Atua has blessed us to meet once more!"
"You came a long way, kid."
"You served us and your country well."
"Gonta surprised to see you so scared, Shu!"
"Miss your gorgeous girl genius, Pooichi?"
"Wow, we both survived in the end. What are the odds, huh?"
"Kekeke~ How delightful to be in the realm of the living with someone of your calibre, Shuichi..."
Maki and Himiko came up behind Shuichi and hugged him, his sobbing body fragile and thankful for their stability. "I-I don't..."
"Remember the resurrection motive? It worked, Shu..." Maki cried.
"It's all over now! All thanks to our magic!" Himiko sobbed.
Everyone was at least crying a bit, even Ryoma, not that he'd ever admit that himself. The hug pile was large and warm and amazingly emotional, to the point where Shuichi broke down into a happy sob.
Then, he stopped sobbing. His mind flipped a switch, and he pushed his way from the crowd, back towards the graves, taking his hat and adjusting it from its crooked position on his head. "Wait a sec. Where's Kaede? Where's Kiibo? Where's...?" He couldn't even bring himself to utter her name. It made him so unbelievably sick inside. She hurt so many people. She caused so much pain. Why the Hell should he be missing her?
Then, speak of the Devil Herself.
"I fixed up Little Miss Kaedead and the Roomba!" Declared Tsumugi Shirogane, stalking out from behind the still bloodied boulder with a flourish, the one that had marked the end of pain and suffering a mere year ago. "And yes, before you say anything, you can thank me later for modifying the motive to include all of your classmates, or should I say our classmates?"
"No, you shouldn't say that." Shuichi growled. "Just let them come here and go away."
Tsumugi's face softened. "I don't blame you, you know, for hating me the way you do. You two can come out now."
Kiibo seemingly sprinted from behind the boulder, tackle-hugging everyone. It hurt a lot, because metal hurts when slamming into you, but everyone could not stop smiling. The beacon of Hope had risen again, along with...
Kaede Akamatsu was much less fast, but still held a strong smile on her face. Tears streamed from her eyes as she immediately went for Shuichi, hugging his and sobbing into his back. "Did you miss me?"
Shuichi couldn't even bring himself to respond he was so overwhelmed. The group stood for a while, hugging and celebrating. Then, Kaito loudly declared, "Who wants to grab a bite to eat and catch up? My treat!"
The cheer from the crowd of students was enough to usher Kaito out of The Dome with Kokichi trying to outpace him. Kirumi, Angie and Tenko were chatting away to Himiko excitedly; Kaito, Kokichi and Miu were teased Maki for crying so much (to which she was responding with an eyeroll and countering with a, "You guys cried more than me! Do you wanna... never mind."). Finally, Shuichi and Kaede lead the rest of the class away hand-in-hand, Kaede wearing Shuichi's hat and Shuichi laughing so hard that tears were prickling at the corners of his eyes.
But Tsumugi Shirogane stayed right where she was, a little monochrome bear stood just behind her. "Aren't you gonna go?"
She shrugged, examining her fingernails. "Nope. I... think I might just go and cosplay instead."
"What as?" Monokuma asked, falling into step with her as she turned to walk away from her classmates and back into Hope's Peak.
"As a changed woman of some kind."
"Maybe you won't even have to dress up at all."
It was completely silent as it had been for the year since she'd faked her death. "Maybe not, Monokuma. You know what?"
She took off her blue wig and her contact lenses, and her dress and her make-up. She wiped away any tears or remainders of real of fake blood. She stared into the mirror, a completely average person staring back.
"Maybe this is better. Danganronpa will live on within me, but I think i need to find myself further before trying anything like that again. I lost myself, Monokuma."
"I see." He mumbled. "So that means..."
"No no, I'm not destroying you. Just... look." She pulled out some dye of the colours black, brown and white.
"Do you wanna be a grizzly bear, a black bear, or a polar bear?"
Monokuma's eyes shone. "You mean—"
"We're changed people, Monokuma. You should change too." She chuckled to herself. "Guess I can't keep calling you Monokuma, either. Kumakuma, maybe."
Kumakuma nodded. "Kumakuma it is. And... what about your real name?"
Tsumugi tapped her chin, thoughtfully. Then, suddenly remembered. "My name is Tsuyu Shiraishi, and I'm going to change."

"If Danganronpa is your reason to live, I'm more than happy. Pleasure doing business with you."

Betcha didn't see that coming, huh?!
So, I feel like you all deserve an apology.
-Chances are, I will not be completing the requests on my Waiting List, or at least not for a while.
-The shitposting book (which is basically me just writing whatever DR stuff I feel like writing) and Fanganronpa book are going to be coming out, but I want to have a good amount of chapters ready so I don't leave you hanging, so this chapter will come out when at least one of them does.
I wanted to make something special to 'end' (or at least 'put this book on a long hiatus', but it didn't have the same ring to it), so I came up with this.
Danganronpa is an amazing series of games and I am so glad to be a part of such an amazing fandom, but all good things must come to an end. I still love the game but can't bring myself to write requests for it anymore, or at least not right now. I sincerely hope you can forgive me.
I want to put my best foot forward, but by continuing posting weekly I feel like I wouldn't be doing that. My passions have shifted to pursuing what I want to do rather than what others want me to do, as selfish as that may seem. I enjoyed doing requests, I really did, but there are only so many that I can do before I hit a brick wall.
Here's to another few books on Danganronpa, and an end to this one!
My other Danganronpa books can be found on my profile, so make sure to follow me!
Have a good one.
