Chapter 14

A coma is different to a dream. Your senses are awake. But your body isn't. You can hear everything, feel people holding your hand, smell the clean hospital room. And then you wake up...

I blinked a few times and looked around seeing Jasper sitting in a chair 'sleeping' and dad filling out paper on the other one. "Dad" I croaked and he snapped his head up instantly. "Holy crap! Elise! You're awake!" He said throwing the paperwork before coming to my side. He gently stroked my face with his hands.

"What happened?" I questioned taking in a deep breath as I looked at myself. My right thigh was bandaged, my wrist was in a cast, my neck was bandaged up and my left foot was wrapped up in gauze. "Well, you and Bella went to a hotel, Jasper, Edward and Carlisle went to convince you two to come back. Bella slipped and fell down a set of stairs and you reached out to grabbed her falling down as well. Bella fell through a window and you landed on the glass cutting yourself up pretty good on your neck and leg. Broke your hand and sprained your ankle trying to break your fall" Dad explained and I nodded.

"I'll go get your mom and doctor Cullen" Dad said before kissing my head na exiting the room shutting the door behind. Jasper opened his eyes and came to my side holding my hand in his. "You're ok" He said and I nodded. "Is he...?" I said referring to James. "Yes. Pierre and Emmett took care of him. Had fun doing so" He said.

"Why didn't you let me turn?" I said looking and him and he sighed. "You didn't deserve to be turned in that way. Not like Alice was. If you are going to be one of us, I want to be the one to do it" He said and I nodded. "How weren't you driven crazy by all the blood?" I said. "I couldn't bare the thought of losing you. That's what drove me to stop" He said sitting down beside me on my bed.

I moved over as best I could and Jasper climbed in next to me. I snuggled up to him as he wrapped his arms around me. "I never want to be away from you ever again" I said as I laid my head on his chest. "Neither do I. I promise I will never leave you again" He said and I nodded. The door opened and in walked mom with tears in her eyes.

"Oh my baby!" She said running over to me. I lifted my head up and she grabbed my face kissing it repeatedly. "I'm so glad you're ok!" She declared sitting on the end of my bed. "How is Bella?" I asked. "She woke up 2 days ago. She is in no better shape then you" Mom replied gently rubbing my calf.

"I was so worried! After your dad called me that night you and Bella left and then I tried calling you and you or Bella wouldn't answer! And then I get a phone call saying that you and Bella had been involved in an accident. I have never been so worried in my life!" Mom said. I gave her a sad smile. "I'm sorry mom, I-I did't know what to do a-and Jasper and I-""Honey shhh, don't stress yourself" Mom cooed as she stroked my face.

I let out a sigh and Jasper grasped my hand in his. "I'll let you have some time with Jasper" Mom whispered smiling at us before exiting my room. I laid my head on Jaspers chest as he wrapped his arms around me. "I'm so sorry Ell" He said holding me to him a little tighter. "Jasper. It's ok. I'm ok. I'm alive because of you" I said looking up at him.

"Ell, you and Bella are in here because of Edward and I" He said. "No. I'm in here because of my own stupidity. I-I should've known that James would try and lure us. I didn't think" I said playing with the blanket. "Well it's all over now my love. You don't have to worry anymore" He said and I nodded before closing my eyes falling asleep.

A FEW DAYS LATER

Dad placed my bag on my bed as I adjusted myself. "You comfortable?" He asked and I nodded. "Well I will let you rest. Call if you need me" He said about to leave my room. "Dad" I called and he turned back around looking at me. "I'm sorry dad. For what happened that night when Bella and I left" I said looking at my dad apologetically.

"It's ok Ell. You and Bella were upset. All that matters to me is that you two are o and you are home" He said and I nodded. "Get some rest kiddo" He said before leaving my room shutting the door. In an instant Jasper appeared at my side and I snuggled into him as he wrapped his arms around me as I fell asleep.
