*~*~*~*

I looked down at my watch as I walked towards the leaf village gates. I saw Kakashi's genin standing around looking bored, the hokage had asked me to accompany them on their mission, something about it ensuring safety. I didn't really know, as I walked over I began thinking. Why would they send two jonin on a mission like this? I figured the hokage had a good reason for this, so I didn't dwell on the thought for too long.

"(Y/N)-Sensei?" Sakura turned and looked at me confused. "Why're you here? Not that I'm not glad to see you."

"I'm accompanying you on your mission today," I said looking around. "He's late again isn't he?"

Sakura and Naruto nodded vigorously, Sasuke merely let out a long breath. Kakashi and I had been friends for awhile now, and I knew of his horrible habit of being late. I knew we would be here for awhile, and I tugged at my vest. After about five minutes I let out a short breath blowing a long strand of hair off my forehead.

"(Y/N)-Sensei?" Sasuke asked from his spot near me, he and I were leaning against one of the pillars of the gate.

"Hmm?" I hummed, bored. I picked up the end of my braid and examined it.

"What kind of mission is this that we need two Jonin to accompany  us?" Sasuke glanced up at me. I shrugged, it was a valid question, just that it was one I didn't know the answer to.

"I have no clue, but it can't be too bad since it's been assigned to genin." I glanced into the village and as I turned a puff of smoke appeared in front of me and there was Kakashi. An irk mark appeared on my forehead, and as I looked to him I noticed he was very close to me. I leaned back a little, trying to create a little distance.

"Sorry guys I got held up-" Kakashi began but Naruto and Sakura cut him off.

"You're late!" They both shouted and Sasuke just looked annoyed. As someone who was always early for fears of being late, his tardiness irritated me. I looked over at him and glared. He gave me a closed eye smile and shrugged.

"Good to see you again (Y/N)," Kakashi greeted.

"You too Kakashi," I stood up straight and turned towards the genin, all of whom looked ready to go, including Sasuke. Kakashi instructed the three genin to take the lead and we would follow. Slowly I noticed Kakashi drifting closer to me, his book in hand. I raised an unamused eyebrow at him.

"Uhm...what're you doing?" I questioned looking him up and down quickly.

"Reading," He responded, shrugging. His eyes never left his book, and I huffed quietly. Kakashi and I had been friends for almost a year now, but the past couple months he had been acting strange. I couldn't tell if he was trying to send me signs that he was interested in me or not, and it was driving me insane. To make matters worse, he knew that. It was like he was teasing me, but not at the same time. I couldn't even begin to name all of the instances where it seemed he was flirting with me.

It was silent again and we continued walking, I could hear the genin talking ahead of us, and when I glanced over at Kakashi he was walking closer to me than before. He nose was still in his pervy book, and I shook my head. I didn't comment on it, and soon I felt the sleeve of his shirt brush against my own. I had been zoning out, and I jumped a little when I felt that.

"What's the matter (Y/N)?" Kakashi finally looked up from his book, and he stared at me. I was catching my breath, and I noticed he wasn't making any move to step farther away from me. I wasn't complaining, but he was just so confusing.
