hey hey it's toots i decided to write another naruto one while i work on a neji one (it's like -20 below with a -50 below wind chill here rn so i don't have school today or tomorrow) so i can finish a bunch of these in the next few days.

i got this idea and it was really cute in my head so i decided to make it real! (this takes place after boruto is born and obviously before he becomes hokage)

*~*~*~*~*

"Do you have to go?"

"I won't be gone too long, he should just be sleeping until I get back." I leaned up and gave Naruto a kiss on the cheek. He sighed again, and I could see the worry in his eyes.

"You'll be fine, you know what to do," I placed my hands on his chest and gave him a quick kiss. "I trust you."

"Yes but-"

"Naruto, you'll be fine," I said firmly. "You've saved the world, I think you can handle a little baby boy."

He sighed in defeat and gave me another kiss before I left. I would only be gone for two hours at most, I couldn't understand why he was so worried.

I made my way out of the house so I could buy groceries and I needed to stock up on some ninja tools. Boruto also needed a few things, so I mentally planned out the errands in my head.

It would be good for Naruto to have a chance at being home alone with his son, he hadn't had a chance to do so for this long yet. I couldn't understand why he was so nervous about it. He was a good father, and I couldn't understand why he didn't see that.

I walked into the closest store which happened to be the store for ninja tools. I hadn't gone out on many missions lately as I was often home with the baby, and Naruto had been taking less missions as well. With Boruto not being a newborn anymore we could start taking turns going on missions, which meant we needed the proper tools.

I grabbed some kunai and I stocked myself up on senbon needles. I paid and then left the store, deciding where to go next. I began heading up the street to go to the grocery store.

My errands went on for the next two hours and I was gone as long as expected. Carrying the bags in my arms with a little difficulty I opened the door to our home, only to be greeted with Boruto's cries. I frowned a bit, placing the bags on the ground near the door.

I took a few steps towards the hallway where his room was, and looked down to see Naruto holding the baby in his arms. He was rocking him slowly, but Boruto was still crying. Naruto saw me standing in the hallway and sent me a pleading look.

I walked over and held out my arms, and Naruto slowly handed Boruto off to me. I bounced him slightly in my arms, and soon he was soothed to sleep. I carefully walked over to him crib, Naruto in tow, and laid Boruto down. I placed a gentle kiss on his forehead and we both carefully walked out of the room.

"He was fine up until twenty minutes ago I swea-"

"Naruto, it's alright, he's just at that fussy stage," I laughed softly, as we sat down on the sofa. I took his hand in mine reassuringly. Naruto sighed and leaned his head against my own.

"I get worried that I'm doing something wrong all the time," He said, and I glanced over to him. "I don't want to be a bad parent and disappoint you."

"We can't be perfect parents all the time," I replied softly, rubbing my thumb along the top of his hand. "That's practically impossible."

"Yeah I know that...but you're a great mother to him, and I want to be able to match that," Naruto planted a small kiss on the top of my head. I smiled, feeling the familiar butterflies.

"And you're a great father, you'll see," I responded, pulling away a little so I could give him a proper kiss. Naruto made a move to deepen the kiss, and I was more than willing to continue, but we were interrupted by Boruto crying out. Naruto leaned his forehead against mine and let out a long sigh.

I couldn't help but let out a soft laugh. I got up and walked over to Boruto's room, I spoke softly to him as I picked him up and held him close. I bounced him softly, hopping to pacify him.

To my surprise, and my dismay, after about ten minutes he continued crying. Naruto pokes his head into the room, and to both our surprises, Boruto perked up when he saw his dad. He stopped crying, only sniffling every once in awhile. I motioned with my head for Naruto to come over to me so I could hand Boruto to him.

He hesitantly did so, and I handed Boruto off to him. Naruto broke out into a grin when Boruto began falling asleep in his arms. He looked up and me and I couldn't help but smile also.

'Told you so,' I mouthed to him as Boruto was silently snoring in his arms.
