yo readers toots again back with an actual Naruto one shot...wow a concept. Anyways you know the usual things (I highly doubt anyone reads these anyways...)

I sat in my desk at home and I waited in anticipation to open Naruto's latest letter. Since he left the village to train with Jiraiya, we had written each other nearly everyday. We had been best friends since our academy days, and despite the fact that we were on different squads, we still stayed close. I watched him grow as ninja, and I stayed by his bedside after his fight with Sasuke. Right before he left he confessed to me and said he loved me. He didn't give me a chance to respond to him before he ran off. He promised he would write and I sat at the village gates, red faced.
I pulled the string off of the scroll and unrolled it on my desk.
(Y/N), I have really exciting things to tell you! For starters, I just perfected this new jutsu and it's really cool. I can't wait to show it to you when I get home. And second, I'm coming home really soon. I can't wait to see you, it's been so long sometimes I can barely remember what you look like. I've changed a lot since we last saw each other, and you probably did too. When I get home you can finally give me an answer to my confession, which I'm excited to hear. I think I already know the answer though.
I think about you everyday and Pervy Sage always pesters me about it, but that's okay. I love you and always will, I can't wait to see you!

I smiled to myself and I felt butterflies within me. He was finally coming home! The anticipation was too great and I decided to go find Sakura to tell her the news.

Around a week had past since I had replied to Naruto's letter. I was taking a shower and getting myself ready for the day, all the while thinking about when Naruto would be home. He said it would be soon, but the problem was that soon could mean so many different things, especially when it came to Naruto.
I finished my shower and began drying myself off. I got into my ninja clothes and kept a towel around my shoulders to dry my (h/c) hair. I went downstairs to make breakfast, and I was in the process of cooking some eggs. The moment I put them on a plate I heard a knock on the door. My hair was still not brushed and wet, and I figured whoever was at the door was probably Sakura. She usually came over to hang out in the mornings before we went on missions and stuff.
I ran over and opened the door before going upstairs and grabbing a brush. As I was walking down the stairs brushing my hair, I heard, who I assumed, was Sakura sit down in one of my dining room chairs. I got the bottom on the stairs and my hair was brushed, so I put the wet towel on the railing and I threw the brush on the couch.
"Good morning Sakura," I said without looking as I turned to my eggs. "What brings you here?"
"Well for one, I'm not Sakura," A voice said and I gasped. "And I came by to say hello to the girl I love."
I whipped around and found Naruto sitting at my table. He gave me a smile and rubbed the back of his neck awkwardly. He slowly got up out of the chair and took a few steps towards me. I was completely speechless.
"I just walked in and I was hoping you wouldn't mind-" He was interrupted by me running forward and wrapping my arms around his waist. He let out a breath and wrapped his arms tightly around me, resting his chin on top of my head.
"I've missed you so much," I mumbled into his chest. "You have no idea."
"I have a bit of an idea," Naruto laughed softly. "I missed you a lot too."
We stayed there and hugged and that's when I remembered he wanted an answer to his confession. I didn't know how to bring it up, but I had an idea that just might work. I pulled away so I was standing in front of him and he looked at me confused.
"What's the matter?" He asked.
"Can I try something quick?" I asked, knowing fully well if it worked it wouldn't be quick. He nodded slowly, looking at me skeptically. I stepped forward and wrapped my arms around his neck and pressed me lips to his.
His face turned bright red, and it took a couple seconds for him to kiss back. He slowly wrapped his arms around my waist and pulled me close to him. We kissed for what felt like a long while.
I couldn't believe he was back, and that I was holding him and kissing him at that moment. He had gotten so much taller and so much more handsome. I pulled away for air, my hands not leaving his neck.
"I think that answered my confession," He chuckled a little, keeping his hands around my waist. My cheeks were tinted pink and so were his. I leaned into him again, hugging him again. His hand went to the back of my head and held it to him.
We stayed liked that and the sounds of people walking outside drifted through the open window. I could feel his warmth and it was as if he had never left.
"You didn't tell me you had a girl waiting on you!" A voice exclaimed from outside causing both of us to jump. We looked over to the source, our arms still wrapped around one another, and saw none other than Jiraiya leaning through my window.
His face turned bright red and I began to laugh at him.
"It wasn't important," He mumbled. Jiraiya looked like he was surpressing a chuckle. Naruto turned to me and gave me a nervous smile which just made me laugh more.
"You two can love it up later, Naruto, we have to meet with Lady Hokage," Jiraiya informed Naruto and he let out a heavy sigh, reluctantly letting go of me. I let my hands fall to my sides.
"Alright I'll come back later I promise!" He exclaimed.
"I'm holding you to that," I replied, a smile not able to leave my features. He nodded in response and went to walk out the door.
"I love you," I said casually as he left and he poked his head back in through the door.
"What was that?" He asked in disbelief.
"Oh nothing, I'll tell you later." I turned back to my breakfast that I had been neglecting and Naruto hung his head.
"Fine, I'm holding you to that then," He said before leaving for real.
I wanted to cry I felt so happy, having him back with my felt so right.
