Someone requested a Minato One Shot so I finally came up with an idea. Idk if this will be any good but I'm trying lol.

Another bang of thunder rang out through my bedroom as I sat awake on my bed. It must've been midnight or just about as I had been sitting awake while the storm raged on outside.

I usually was able to sleep through these but ever since Minato became Hokage, he wasn't home on time to calm me down. I flinched when another lightning strike came, anticipating the loud bang that was soon to come.

I brought my knees up to my chest and put my face into them. When that didn't do enough, I grabbed my blanket and covered myself with it. I quivered after each lightning strike as I impatiently waited for Minato to come home.

~Minato's Pov~

I let out a relieved sigh as I finished the last document on my desk. I was so engrossed in the paperwork that I got startled when I heard thunder outside. I looked out of the window behind me and saw the pouring rain with the occasional lightning strike. I sat in my chair for a few moments staring at the sight in front of me.

'I wonder if Y/n is in bed yet...' I thought to myself before jumping out of my chair when I remembered that she's afraid of storms. I quickly rushed out of my office and out of the building. I practically sprinted back to my home and hassled with my keys once I got to the door.
When it opened, I took of my jacket and shoes before making my way to the bedroom.
I let out a light sigh at her appearance, she looked very frightened but this isn't the worst that I've seen. I made my way over to her and took the blanket off of her.
I brushed a few tears off of her face and cupped her cheek with my hand. She slowly met my gaze and I gave her a smile.

"It's alright, it's just a storm." I said in a cheery tone. I climbed into the bed and waited for her to lay next to me.

Once she did, I wasted no time in wrapping my arms around her smaller frame. Another thunder clash rolled in and she hid her head in my chest. I glanced at her and let out a chuckle. I pushed myself away from her so I could see her face.

"It's just a bit of rain, you'll be alright. I'm here to protect you," I smiled and gave her a kiss on her forehead and made my way down to her lips. Her lips were very soft against mine.

As I pulled away, I wrapped my arms around her once again and forced myself to stay awake until she fell asleep. She snuggled into me and I held her a little tighter. I drew random patterns on her back until I heard light snores coming from her lips. I placed a kiss on the top of her head before making myself comfortable.
I let my eyes droop and before I knew it, I was joining my love in sleep.

~time skip, and Y/n pov switch~

I woke up to breathing and the sound of light rain outside. I turned my body around to see the sleeping face of my husband.
I admired him for a couple minutes before reaching my hand out and cupping his cheek. I ran my thumb across his soft skin and placed a kiss on his cheek. He began to stir and I pulled back slightly until his hand encompassed mine. His bright blue eyes open tiredly and a small smile appears on his lips.

"Good morning," Minato said in a slightly gruff morning voice.

"Morning to you too," I giggled as he squinted from the bright light. He shut his eyes and I gasped when his arms quickly pulled me back to his chest.

"What are you doing?" I giggled at him, lightly pushing him away.

"I'm trying to fall asleep again. I don't want to go to work just yet." He said calmly as his grip on me tightened. I resisted once more.

"You don't have a choice!" I laughed out my hands now pushing on his face. His hands reached out to grab mine and he pulled them away. He quickly pressed his lips against mine and I immediately melted into it. I felt him smirk and I realized what he's trying to do. I set my hands on his chest and gave a tougher push.

He frowned at me while I began to giggle again.

"You can't coerse me, you need to go to work!" I say and he groans.

"Oh I get it, you're trying to get me out because you don't want to spend time with me" he said teasingly.

"I can assure you that's not why, but you need to go take care of the village, which includes me." I say while getting out of bed.

I pull the covers over to my blanket side of bed, to which he groans once more.

"Get out of bed!" I say as he slumps up and swings his legs over to the side of the bed. I throw his clothes at him and walk out of the room to make myself breakfast.

As I start to grab ingredients, I hear footsteps behind me. I turn around to see Minato leaning on the counter. As head about to speak, I cut him off by saying, "Don't you need to be at work soon."

To which he replies, "Lay off, I was gonna ask if you wanted to go out to get breakfast."

I consider for a moment before standing up and nodding my head. Another grin spreads across his face as I go get dressed. When I walk back into the kitchen he grabs my hand and races out the door.

"Slow down there, I'm not planning on eating my breakfast while being tired." I say as he finally slows to a walking pace.

"Sorry, I'm just excited. I haven't gone out with you in a while because I've been so busy." He says before I smile at him and rub my side into his arm.

"Where do you want to go again?" I ask as we continue to walk down the street.

"Ya know, I'm not quite sure, I just wanted to get you out of the house." He says.

"What do you mean by that exactly," I say slightly irritated.

"No reason," He replies hastily and quickens his pace.

"No no no, you're gonna tell me whether I like it or not," I say before beginning to chase after him, despite the grin that never left his face.
