11: The One Where Fangs Dies

What happens when Fangs was shot, and the blackhood never came Cheryl's house and the ghoulies didn't take Toni. And no riot night

CHERYL POV:

I was sitting on the couch reading with Nana Rose. Like we weren't reading together but she happened to me sitting next to-. You get the point. Anyways I was reading when I here a knock at the door. "I'll get it." Who the hell is knocking on my door at 9:30 at night? I open to door to a broken Toni, who is covered in blood and looks like she's been through hell. "Cheryl, Fangs he- he- he was shot. I don't know if he will be ok." She starts crying. I pull her into a hug. "Come on you need to get in the shower." She nods and walks upstairs. "Nana we'll be upstairs." She nods and goes back to being a grumpy old lady. I walk upstairs and meet Toni at the bathroom. She was just sitting on the toilet staring at her hands. My heart broke. "T." I kneel in front of her. "It was Reggie I saw him with the gun." I grab a cloth, wet it and wash her hands.  "He's going to be ok." I reassure her. I've never seen her in this destroyed, even when she saved me she wasn't this bad. Fangs is like her brother. "What if he's not?" She ask. "You'll be ok, he'll be ok. Everything will be ok." I wipe her tears. "I love you." She says probably not thinking. She looks up in shock. "I love you, Topaz." She takes a deep breath. I kiss her.

I was sitting at the bar with Toni when FP and Jughead walk in. "Hey! Everyone quietly down!" FP yelled. "Fangs he didn't make it." Toni looks at me. I mouth that I'm sorry. She just shakes her head. "I'll be back in a minute." She storms out. Jughead looks at me. "I'll get her." I get up and stop him. "Are you her girlfriend?" He looks at me. "No!" He starts to walk but quickly stops. "Wait you and Toni?" I shake my head. "It doesn't matter. I'll be back in a minute." I walk out of the bar, and see Toni sitting at the curb playing with her shoe lace. "I don't want to talk." She looks at me. I sit down. "Than don't." I rap my arm around her and she lies her head on my shoulder. We just sit there in silence which is weird because it's the Southside. "I didn't get to say goodbye. That's my only regret." She says softly. I rub her arm. He was like her brother, and I get it. "I know." Everything was quiet and nice, until we here a loud crash. "I'm gonna kill him." We both turn around and stand up. "Why didn't you say anything?" Sweet Pea walks over to Toni. She doesn't even say anything. "YOU COULD HAVE SAVED HIM AND YOU DIDN'T! YOU SAW REGGIE WITH THE GOD DAMN GUN! AND YOU DID FUCKING NOTHING." Sweet pea yells. "I'm sorry." Toni walks away quietly with her head down. I fallow her. "T." I sit in front or her. "I saw him but it was to late."

We were lying in bed. Sweet Pea has calmed down since we were at the bar. Toni hasn't really talked much. I've never seen her so broken. "Cheryl." She sits up to face me. "You ok?" I ask. She looks down and back up quickly. "Yeah." She pulls me into a kiss. This is only the fourth time we've kissed. I cup her cheek and kiss back. We both pull away. She smiles and lies back down. "Is that all you wanted to do?" I ask. "Will you be my girlfriend?" She ask, she looks back at me. "Yes."

"Where is she." I ask Jughead. There is a ruffle from the woods. Jug looks over. "There." I look over and see FP carrying Toni's body. "Toni."

Jughead kicks a chair. I look up. "I shouldn't have let her go." He sits down. We've been here for hours waiting for visiting hours. FP walks out of the hall of her room. "How is she?" I ask. "She's fine she's sleeping right now. But Fangs is alive." What? "What?" Jughead and I say in unison. "Yeah they lied."

TONI POV:

"Toni I love you. More than anything, Our story isn't over. Please come back."

I wake up. I look over at a sleeping Cheryl. "Cher." She wakes up. A big smile is on her face. What the hell. happened? "I'm so happy your ok." She sits on my bed. "What happened?" She looks like she's been through hell. She takes my hand. "It's bad. Fangs is alive they lied to FP and told him he died. It wasn't Reggie who shot him, it was penny." I nod. "I know that." Wait! Fangs is not dead. "Wait Fangs is alive?" I hold her arm. "Yeah. The Ghoulies are now at war with the serpents. I got caught up in the middle of it." She whispers the last part. I shake my head. "No. You are not getting in the middle of my life. I try so hard to keep you away from that." I pull her into a kiss. She kisses back. "I really like you and I don't want you to get hurt." I rub the bruise that is forming on her face. She winces in pain. "It's kinda to late." The nurse knocks on the door. "Hey you are ok for release."

I was sitting at a booth in Pops, it's been a few days since I was released. I sip my coffee thinking about how I let Cheryl join the serpents. I never wanted to see her to the serpent dance. Well, not in front of a bunch of horny old men. "Toni Topaz. The woman who saved my life." I turn around. "Cheryl." She sits next to me, takes my coffee and immediately regrets it. "What do you drink that?" She ask forcing herself to swallow it. "It's so late to. What are you doing here?" She ask. "What are you doing here?" I ask softly not wanting to sound pissed. "I got a call from Pop telling me you were here." She moves a piece of hair out of my face. "The wyrm is no longer a place, so I came here the only place in town open 24/7. Things haven't been the best at home. It never has but since I was in the hospital my uncle has just treated me like crap." Haven't really told her about my family, I don't think I'm ready to. "What happened that you now live with you uncle?" I take a deep breath and shake my head. She cups my face so I look at her. "You don't have to tell me." I start panicking. "I-I should." She kisses my hands. "No I don't want you to have a panic attack." I put my head on her shoulder. "My parents died when I was younger and it's a horrible situation." Thats all I'm comfortable saying. She raps her arm around me. "You know, I don't care how bad your family is. I don't care what side of town you come from, I care about how much money you have or don't have. You're my girlfriend and that's all that matters." We sit there until the sun comes up that morning I didn't realize it until Jughead walks in. We didn't talk, we just held each other. "Hey guys." We both look at Jug. I rub my eyes sitting up. "What time is it?" I ask noticing that the sun is up. "7:15 ish. Were you guys here all night?" Cheryl nods. "Yeah. We order something to eat." She say voice groggy from lack of use. I just want to go to sleep. Pop walks over and we order. Jughead sits down. I just got coffee and pan cakes, I wasn't listening to what Cheryl got. I put my head on her shoulder again. She takes my hand.

"So are you guys a thing now?" Jughead ask as we walk out. "Yeah." I thinks that's when I realize that I love her. "Cool. Good luck." He pats my shoulder and walks away. I walk over to Cheryl. "Do you want to stay at my house until you get things settled with your uncle? Or just until forever?" I pull her into a kiss. She cups my cheeks and kisses back. "That would be great. I'll meet you there. I have to grab my stuff."

"Wellcome home babe." She opens the door. "This month has been hell, hopefully I can make something a little easier." I pull her by the jacket and kiss her. "I love you. And I know its a little to soon but-." She kisses me again. "I love you."
