TONI POV:

Betty opens the door. Cheryl, Toni, what are you doing here?" She ask quietly. "I need your help." I say quietly. "With what?" She ask. "I need to go into hiding." I whisper looking around to make sure no one else is watching. She grabs our arms and pulls us into the house. "From who?" She ask. "My mom and 99% of the serpents!" I whisper. "What have you done?" She ask pissed. I look at Cheryl. "I didn't snitch!" I sigh. "I told Penny where our drug ring was." I whisper. She looks at me. "Why would you do that?" She ask. "She was gonna kill Cheryl. I'm sorry, I love Cheryl more than the serpents!" She nods. "I get it." I look at her. "Do you know what we can do?" I ask quietly. She nods. "We're gonna have to go on foot though." I nod. "I have some stuff that can help us, meet me behind high school at 6:30. Go pack! Mostly warm." I nod.

"Toni, I'm going with you!" I look at Cheryl. "No! It's to dangerous!" I whisper. "Toni! If it wasn't for me, we wouldn't be in this place!" She says. "Please. You'll need company anyways." She looks at me. "Fine, but the second something bad happens you go straight home!" I tell her. She nods.

"Where are we going?" I ask Betty. She stops a small opening in the woods. "Let's set up the tent." I look at Cheryl. She shrugs. "Tent? Just one?" I ask quietly. "It's big don't worry." I nod. We set the tent up and get in. "Oh, yeah!" I smile. "It's supposed to set up with your car or something. I don't really know my mom got it for me for Girl Scouts until she remembered that it was Girl Scouts where we sell cookies and make friendship bracelets." Betty says slightly pissed. I nod. "This is some Harry Potter shit." I say putting my bag on the small bed. "I'll keep look out tonight, Toni, Cheryl you sleep." Betty says quietly. We both nod and sit down at the small table.

CHERYL POV:

I sit next to Betty. "I'm sorry we are putting you through all of this." I whisper. "How's Toni doing?" She ask quietly. "She keeps waking up from her nightmares covered in sweat." I explain. "What? Why?" She ask. "She freaking out." I say quietly. "She thinks someone is gonna find us." I whisper. "Probably will." I look at her. "We should start moving closer to Canada." Toni steps out. "Canada?!" We both ask. "Yeah where did you think we were going?" She ask. "I'm not allowed in Canada!" Toni says quietly. "What did you do this time?" I ask. "Got drunk and punched a cop." She explains. "Wh- why?" She shrugs. "I was bored." She whispers. "Ok! So I think we're gonna head to Mexico." Betty says quietly. "Wait, they would expect that! Because my mom knows I'm not allowed in Canada." Toni whispers. "So where do we go?" Betty ask. "My family owns a house in Washington." I say quietly. "No body besides me knows it's there because well, I'm the only person who would that's alive." I explain. They look at me. "Well, my mom died, my father killed Jason, than himself and Nana Rose has never been there and she has dementia so she barely remembers my name." I explain. "But what if she does?" I shake my head. "She only does if you remind her and no one else will know about it so they probably won't ask and even if they do she'll probably mention the house in the Hampton's because yes we are those rich people." Toni smiles a little. "What if she does mention the house is Washington?" Betty ask. "Than we run."

I walk over to Toni who's covered in sweat. "You ok?" I ask quietly. She nods getting up. "We should get ready to leave." She says. I look at her. "Are you sure you're ok?" I ask. She nods. I can tell she's lying but I don't feel like getting into an argument right now. We pack everything up and keep walking until it's dark. We set everything back in a small part of the woods and I start a small fire for dinner. Toni walks out of the tent. "You ok babe?" I ask quietly. "Do you think she's safe?" I look at her. "Your sister?" She nods. "Probably. Why?" I ask. "I'm afraid that they are going to go after her because they can't go after me immediately." She whispers. "They're probably gonna go to her because they will be searching for me. When she doesn't know where I am they are gonna keep pushing and pushing." She whispers. I sigh. "I didn't get to say goodbye to her and I don't want to regret not saying anything for the rest of my life. You know, if that I get past my 23rd birthday at this point." She says quietly. "She's still a minor and she's technically not a serpent yet!" I say quietly. She looks at me. "But she's family!"
