Shikaku smelt the food before Yoshino appeared. "What restaurant did you stop at this time? I know you didn't make that." Shikaku said immediately when the woman stepped in. She carried with her a rather large lunchbox, and she looked ecstatic. Maybe somewhere new had opened, he assumed. It was the only plausible explanation he could think of.

"Why's everyone keep saying that? Whatever, I suppose it's not wrong, but it didn't come from a restaurant." Yoshino grinned widely. "Arron made it! And she even agreed to come with me."

Shikaku almost stood up in his surprise as Arron cautiously peeked into the room, scanning it for threats, eyes wide and Adam's apple bobbing. He could see Trexx leering behind her. The beast bent down to look through the doorway, waving at the man. Shikaku couldn't help but gape. Arron was a miracle chef, and she'd agreed to come outside without Shikamaru? He felt like he was missing something here. And to see him, someone she seemed terrified of, no less.

"I was surprised too." Yoshino opened the lunchbox. Arron cautiously took a seat on the couch in the Nara clan head's office, Trexx plopping down next to her. His sudden added weight made her bounce a little as Yoshino set her plate in front of her on the coffee table, and Trexx's in front of him. The creature was too busy staring at a the dusty lamp next to him to notice.

"She made this?" Shikaku awed, mouth watering.

"Looks like it was pulled out a magazine, I know. It's amazing. Who knew she had such a talent." Yoshino glanced at Arron, who'd pulled the plate into her lap and was carefully eating her cooked vegetables, glancing around. She seemed to be trying to finish as soon as possible, and yet she still ate with poise. "Choji will be pleased."

Shikaku almost melted when he placed the first piece of steak in his mouth. How a traumatized girl who seemed scared of her own shadow could possibly produce something so amazing escaped him. He looked up to thank her, but paused when he saw her arms around one of Trexx's larger ones. The creature froze too, mouth open and ready to eat the old lamp.

The Nara sighed. "Fine." He grumbled. "But you have Arron to thank." A perfect steak for an old lamp he hadn't turned on in a good seven or so months sounded fair. With what this plate of food was worth, he could buy a whole plethora of old lamps.

Yoshino and Shikaku made small talk. Trexx's plate, which Arron had thrown together while the groceries were being put away and the lunchbox was being washed, sat untouched. Arron glanced at it as she hurriedly ate her own food. Trexx didn't seem to want it, full from the lamp he'd devoured. Arron's eyes shifted to it. She couldn't stop herself from thinking of the man at the desk. He wanted the food, right?

When they finished, Yoshino collected the empty plates. Arron clutched Trexx's full one like it was gold, eyes daring Yoshino to try and take it. The woman, smartly, didn't bring it up. Arron was relieved the woman didn't ask any questions, scurrying after her. Trexx lumbered behind. The girl just wanted get back to the house so she could relax. They hadn't been out long, but it was long enough. Arron was going to call it a victory.

"Bye, Mrs. Nara." Genma gave a two finger salute as the woman trudged past happily. Arron stopped in front of his desk. It was raised, so she could barely see of the top of it. Genma watched the girl lift a plate of what smelled like heaven itself and slid it towards him. She met his surprised gaze briefly before rushing towards Yoshino again. "I, uh- thank you!" He sputtered before she could leave. The food looked amazing. Sure beat the PB&J he had stashed in his weapons pouch, anyway.

Arron fled to the room she and Shikamaru shared as soon as they were back. She hoped he'd be proud to hear she shared the food she made, with a stranger, no less. "Lamp." Trexx requested.

"'ou just had one, Trexx." She whispered, not wanting him to deface anything in Shikamaru's room. That was ironic seeing as she'd basically made the boy's bed her new nest for the week. "Aren't you full?"

"Always hungry," Trexx said simply, "Always lamp."

"Do 'ou think Shikamaru will be proud ov me? Tis isn't easy, 'ou know. Perhaps I'm simply being daft." Arron sighed, struggling to talk in a normal tone. She knew she couldn't whisper and mutter forever. She really wanted to hold a normal conversation with Shikamaru. Trexx as the perfect one to practice with. He either wouldn't understand what she was saying or not care. It was a win-win in her book. Maybe she could work on getting rid of this idiotic accent of hers...

"Shikamaru proud." Trexx nodded. "Sun dies. Happy day!"

Arron chose to ignore the sun part. "At least one ov us thinks so. I know I'm being a twp." She frowned. "Should I try talking to Yoshino? I know I 'ave to eventually... especially if I wish him to stay my butty." She said.

"Yes." Trexx had no idea what she was talking about.

"What if... what if we become more, Trexx?" Arron frowned. "I don't know. I'm rather clueless when it comes to things like this. Shikamaru'd never be my cariad anyway." She felt she was doing good with the conversation. She felt sad, though. She'd never be good enough for someone like Shikamaru, and she knew that. But she loved him so much already, and he seemed to love her too. She wasn't sure what she felt, really. She was sure it wasn't romantic, but she couldn't help but think of the future.

She felt she'd never be able to trust someone the way she trusted Shikamaru. She sighed. Now wasn't a good time to thing of such things, she supposed. She was far too broken, and he was far good.
