Ok so hiiiii allll, first things first if there are typos, do excuse me as my laptop keyboard is messed, secondly this story is just an idea I had and decided to write, thirdly, it may not be good, I haven't really written anything before. And lastly I'm sorry if I get any HP facts wrong but I'll defo try not to :) Also I wrote this with _heysisterss sooooo yeah :)

Eloise Malfoy stood in Kings Cross Station, at platform 9 ¾, at 10:55am on the morning of September 1st holding a grey kitten with pale blue eyes as her knees shook with nerves. She and her family were easy enough to spot in the sea of people by their matching pale blonde hair. Eloise had the Malfoy hair but her eyes made her stand out, unlike the grey eyes of her father and brother, Eloise's eyes were a light hazel colour, they had specks of green in. She had seen photographs of her mother who had blue eyes so she knew she hadn't inherited them from her. Eloise and her older brother Lucius were stood with their father waiting to board the Hogwarts Express. Abraxas Malfoy looked down to his 11 year old daughter,

"You have 5 minutes to board the train and find a compartment so I suggest you hurry along." With that he pressed a hand briefly to her shoulder and nodded at Lucius before turning, and, with a swish of his robes, apparating to (presumably) the ministry. She looked around and saw a woman who looked familiar, she was fussing over a boy with untidy hair and glasses and she was facing Eloise. The woman looked up and she caught a glimpse of her eyes, they were hazel with specks of green.

The Malfoys were never a family of much affection and after the death of Eloise's mother when she was merely an infant, the few moments of fondness that appeared every so often at the Malfoy Manor, disappeared and the large house was as cold as the ornate iron gates that secluded them from the outside. Eloise knew that she had other family, her mother had a sister: Euphemia Quinn, her last name soon to be changed when she married Fleamont Potter. Abraxas Malfoy never spoke of his late wife's relatives and kept his children away from their son, James. Despite Euphemia's efforts to allow Eloise to meet her cousin of the same age, she never had the pleasure of meeting what her father called

"Blood traitors! A shame to us for not resenting muggles and mudbloods alike".

Eloise - though she would never dream of admitting it, never quite understood her father's absolute loathing of muggles, (non-magic folk) and 'mudbloods', or 'muggle-borns' as she'd rather call them, the magical offspring of muggles. The young girl had believed them to be equal. Granted muggles couldn't perform magic, however they weren't vermin. As for muggle-borns, if they could perform magic, what of their parentage? Surely the ability to perform spells and wield a wand would be enough to be classed as a 'proper wizard'. Eloise knew, however, that if she voiced these opinions in front of her father, she would likely never again see the light of day. You see, Abraxas Malfoy was immensely proud of his pure-blooded family, He never consorted with anyone he thought to be below him. So anyone who's blood wasn't purely magical, was most definitely not worth his time.

Because of this, Eloise confided in her older brother Lucius. Lucius agreed with his father's views on pure-blood and muggles but listened intently to his small sister's reasoning and thought about her argument for no less than 5 minutes before replying,

"Don't speak, or even think these... these thoughts again, Eloise, I mean it. Especially not to father." The small girl opened her mouth to retort but the brother held up his hand, "Don't" he said simply before walking out and closing the door. Other than this instance, Eloise and her sibling got along as well as could be. He protected her and taught her how to behave, he listened to her when their father wouldn't and kept her company when she was lonely. Lucius was a pure-blood, and a proud one at that. But first and foremost, he was a big brother, and he wouldn't be forgetting that anytime soon.
