Things weren't quite right between Eloise and Sirius. James had long since apologised, although it was begrudgingly, due to the fact that James was well...James. Remus and Peter were never really too fussed at her friendship with Regulus and with Lily being friends with Severus Snape, was really in no place to judge. Sirius however, was another story. It had been a week since he had exploded and whilst neither friend had admitted to being angry with one another, the whole situation was never resolved. The overly polite conversations and lack of friendly banter between the boy and girl had not only brought down the morale of the group but had also made it thoroughly awkward for the remainder of the Marauders.

Eloise, not wanting to be the cause of any issues with any of the boys, had taken to spending more time with her other friends: Lily Evans, Mary McDonald, Alice Fortescue, Marlene McKinnon and, after their little escape act, Regulus Black.

The five girls were sat in the library; Lily scribbling away, red hair over her face and falling onto the table like a waterfall; Mary was reading a History of Magic textbook, her chocolate brown eyes scanning the page quickly; Alice was staring out of the window dreamily, her gaze on a certain sandy haired Gryffindor playing in the snow known as Frank Longbottom; Marlene was lying on the table, soft snores emitting from her open mouth along with the occasional,  "Chicken"; Eloise was doodling boredly on her parchment, having finished all her homework and studying throughout the week. She looked up from her parchment covered in rabbits and snitches when she heard laughing, laughing that sounded an awful lot like her idiot twin brother.

She look out the window and, sure enough, James was stood next to Sirius, laughing at someone being levitated by Sirius over the Black Lake, someone Eloise recognised to be Regulus Black.

"Oh for fuck's sake" Eloise hastily grabbed her bag and coat and walked away from the girls,

"Elle? What happened?" she heard Mary call out and she turned around briefly to meet the confused looks from her four friends,

"Don't worry M, just my brother and his best mate being arseholes" she said shrugging and running out of the library, she heard Lily call out after her,

"Nothing new then" and resisted the urge to laugh as she stormed onto the grounds, her footsteps making a trail in the soft snow.

The choruses of cruel laughter gradually got louder as she got closer to the frozen over lake. Sirius was lifting his wand up and down, smirking as Regulus came ever closer to the ice blanketing the freezing water. James was stood at his side, clutching his stomach in laughter at Regulus' furious expression,

"JAMES! SIRIUS!" Eloise shouted and James stopped laughing, he turned slowly to face his sister and the smile ran off of his face like water, the look of fear was unmistakable, Sirius' smirk dropped and he stopped bouncing his brother up and down as he looked sheepishly at the seething girl in front of him,

"Lou-" he began but Eloise help up a hand,

"Put. Him. Down" she said firmly, her livid gaze not leaving the boys. Sirius' smirk made a reappearance on his face as he nodded slightly,

"As you wish" with a flick of his wand, Regulus began to fall towards the Black Lake. Eloise, managing to pull out her wand just in time, muttered a spell,

"Molliare" the charm had the desired effect and Regulus didn't crash into the ice like he was expected but stopped before he reached the surface of the lake, he landed softly and Eloise rushed forwards, holding out an arm to pull him to the bank.

Once Regulus wasn't at risk of drowning or catching Pneumonia she turned once more to the initiators of the whole ordeal,

"What the fuck is your problem Sirius Black?" she hissed taking a step towards him, "Would you care to enlighten me on why you were tormenting my friend?" Eloise's normally kind eyes shone with fury. The blonde corkscrew curls Eloise had chosen to wear that day suddenly fell out and were now pin-straight, flowing behind her like a cape and had turned crimson, matching her flushed cheeks. Sirius had remained calm, despite Eloise's threatening appearance and had merely rolled his eyes in response to her question,
