Eloise Malfoy finally escapes the prison that is Malfoy Manor as she embarks on her time in Hogwarts. Immediately hitting it off with pranksters James Potter and Sirius Black, things don't seem like they'll go as smoothly as Eloise would've hoped.

"Moony, where's Sprout?" Sirius asked as he, Eloise, Robyn and Remus all stood by Nathan's bedside in the Hospital Wing,
"She saw Nate and went to go and get Dumbledore." Remus replied and Sirius raised his eyebrows, "Do you think they're going to contact his parents?"
"Probably." Remus nodded, "They'll most likely send Nathan home for a while too."
"Oh my Merlin! I just heard what happened! Is he okay?" Evan burst into the Hospital Wing with James right behind him, eyes wild and out of breath from running all the way from the Slytherin Common Room after James had told him what happened. He rushed to Nathan's bed where he saw Eloise slumped in a chair, sobbing into Sirius' shoulder as Remus held a shaking Robyn and felt his heart drop. They moved out of the way to reveal Nathan lying on the bed, skin ghostly pale and lying completely still. "Nonono..." he muttered, grabbing Nathan's hand and stroking his cheek, "Please don't tell me-"
"He's alive." Madame Pomfrey walked over, arms laden in potions and a sad expression on her face, "But barely. If Mister Black hadn't have performed that reviving spell on him then he might not have made it." she smiled weakly at Sirius, who continued to stare at the unconscious boy, before she gave Nathan a blood replenishing potion and hurrying off to tend for some First Year who had fallen down the stairs.
"He looks so fragile." Evan choked out, "He's always been so strong and energetic but right now i-it looks like the wind could just blow him away."
"He's going to be alright, mate." James put a hand on Evan's shoulder,
"Maybe it was the breakup? I don't know, we haven't spoken in days."
"It was...partly." Robyn chipped in, her voice weak, "I don't know if I should tell you this but I heard it in his mind so..." she took a deep breath, "His mother passed away last month." she announced and Eloise gasped, Sirius shook his head slightly and Evan's eyes closed, "She's been battling cancer for two years but she died peacefully before we came back to school."
"Poor Nathan." Sirius muttered,
"Why didn't he tell me about this?" Evan asked Robyn, his eyes now opened and trained on Nathan's face,
"You know how much he hates pity. He didn't want anyone to treat him differently because of it."
"Well we'll be sure not to." Sirius decided, "When he wakes up we have to treat him normally, we can't be insensitive but I'm sure he doesn't want us tiptoeing around him." he said and the others nodded. At that moment, the doors opened and Professor Dumbledore walked in with Professor McGonagall on one side and Professor Sprout on the other.
"Miss Morrow, I believe you were the one that found Mister Kennedy."
