48 ~ Marawesome

So I came up with this pun and I'm acc so proud, just wanted to say :)

"I'm sorry"

"I know, I've already forgiven you, you didn't actually do any of the bullying"

"But I didn't try to stop him until it was too late" Eloise pouted as she hugged Lily tightly, "We're leaving tomorrow and I don't want to go the whole summer thinking you're mad at me" she whined and Lily laughed lightly,

"Well I'm not, and you're not the one who needs to apologise, it's Potter, the other Potter, that I want to avoid indefinitely" she said and Eloise sighed,

"I'm not happy about that either - hear me out" Eloise let go of her friend and crossed her legs as she sat on Lily's bed, "Have you let James apologise?" she asked with one eyebrow raised,

"Well not technically" she mumbled,

"Has James tried to apologise to you then?"

"Possibly"

"Then listen to him, please" Eloise begged, taking Lily's hand, "I know what he did was wrong, and he knows that too. But he's a good person, and yes, I may be a bit biased seeing as he's my brother, but even before I knew that he was always there for me. He said he'd be my brother in first year after Lucius said what he said, he's always protected me and, believe it or not, he's protected you too."

"What are you talking about?"
"Remember in fourth year, when that Ravenclaw made that crude comment about your arse?" she asked and Lily shuddered, "And do you remember how that same boy walked into Defense Against the Dark Arts the next day with a black eye?" Eloise smiled slightly when Lily gasped,

"That was James?" she whispered and Eloise nodded.

The Marauders were sat in their usual compartment at the back of the train,

"I can't believe fifth year is over" James said as he tried to catch chocoballs in his mouth,

"I know, it felt like yesterday when I was saying goodbye to Mr and Mrs Evans at the platform" Eloise frowned as she thought of the people who took her in, it was the first summer in three years where she wasn't going to stay with them. Sirius, who had noticed her sad face, squeezed her waist,

"But we're going to have a marawesome summer at your house" he grinned, obviously proud of himself for his pun,

"Marawesome?" Remus repeated and Eloise and James snorted in synch,

"Yeah, awesome...Marauders style. Get on my level" he said as he flipped his hair over his shoulder. The compartment laughed but it was silent as the door opened and Lily walked in, arms crossed and furiously ignoring James' eye.

"Remus" she spoke, "Prefect duties" Remus went to stand up but Eloise put her hand up to stop him. She pointed her wand at the door so it closed and locked, much to Lily's annoyance.

"Lily Marie Evans." she said as she stood, her hands on her hips, "This has gone on too long, speak to my idiot brother please" she put her hands together and stuck out her bottom lip, putting on her best puppy dog eyes. She watched as Lily's eyes softened,

"Yes, talk to idiot me...please" James also used the irresistible puppy dog eyes - it must have been recessive. Lily groaned and threw herself onto the seat,

"Fiiiine" she whined as James grinned from the seat next to her, "Well talk then!"

"Yes, I'm sorry Lily, really! I shouldn't have done what I did and I have already...I can't believe I'm about to say this, but I've already apologised to Sniv- Severus" he corrected himself and rubbed the back of his neck. Lily smiled slightly as she turned to Eloise for confirmation,

"He did apologise, I didn't even have to threaten him" she said proudly and James beamed like a child who had just been rewarded.

Lily sighed,

"Well thank you for apologising-"

"It's nothing really, I was an idiot and I took it far and if I hadn't bullied him, he wouldn't have called you that revolting name which you definitely didn't deserve." James shook his head angrily as he thought about what Snape had called her. Lily couldn't help it as she flung her arms around his neck,

"You know" she whispered as his arms wrapped around her waist, "You're not so bad...James".

It had only been a month since she had seen her parents but Eloise couldn't help but run into her father's arms when she saw him on the platform. Fleamont laughed as he clutched his daughter tightly,

"Miss me Bellie-Boo?" he asked and Eloise pulled away, her nose scrunched up in disgust, "Don't approve of your new name?" her dad asked "I spent all of May on that!" Eloise shook her head,

"Needs some work" she said, a smile creeping onto her face. She turned to Euphemia and hugged her too,

"I missed you" she whispered,

"I missed you too" her mum replied with a laugh as they pulled away from the hug, "Have a good last month? How were O.W.Ls? I'm sure you did fabulously, being my daughter" she winked and Eloise giggled,

"O.W.Ls were good, I studied quite a lot and yes, I did have a good last month, I may or may not have got a boyfriend"

"You got a what now!?" Fleamont took his hand off of Sirius' back after their hug and walked to his daughter, "Tell me your lying" he said, crouching down so they were face to face. Eloise said nothing but bit her lip through her smile. Fleamont turned to James, "Tell me your sister is lying!" James shook his head, "Why didn't you stop her!?" he said, clutching him by the shoulders,

"I tried Dad, I did but- but I was too late" he sniffed and wiped his eye dramatically,

"Who is it?!" he asked, shaking James, "I have to kill them now, that means I have to add time to the travel plan" he moaned and James sighed,

"I don't know if you can kill him Dad, it's Sirius" Fleamont's head snapped up,

"Sirius?" he asked, "That Sirius? My Sirius?" James nodded and he sighed in relief, "Well at least I know my daughter's boyfriend isn't a complete twat"
"Fleamont!" Euphemia reprimanded,

"But Sirius," he said, walking over to the boy, "Hurt her and you'll-"

"Get kicked out?" he suggested and Fleamont's face dropped,

"NO! Are you serious- don't answer that!" he said, sensing a pun, "I'd never kick you out, I would just rip your leather jacket to shreds" with that he clapped Sirius on the shoulder with a grin before putting an arm around Euphemia, who was shaking her head at her husband.
