70 ~ Shut Up, Eloise

Eloise was fed up. It was the beginning of December and Lily was still ignoring her, despite Eloise's best efforts. It was at dinner one Thursday night that Eloise decided to take action. She stood up from her seat next to Sirius and walked over to where the girls were sat. They all looked up when she approached- except Lily of course, and Eloise smiled tightly,

"Hi, girls." she waved, "Wish I could stay and chat but me and Lily have somewhere to be." ignoring the redhead's protests, Eloise grabbed her hand and stormed out of the Great Hall with her, walking down the corridors until they came across an empty classroom. The angry Potter pulled them both inside and locked the door, turning around to face a fuming Lily stodd with her arms crossed over her chest,

"What?" she seethed and Eloise's jaw dropped,

"What?" she repeated, "You know fully well what, Lily Evans." she narrowed her eyes, "It has been over a month and you haven't spoken a word to me, I've apologised more times than I can count and I know what I did wrong so why are you being so childish and dragging it out, Lily? What could you possibly gain from this silent treatment other than a very angry Potter?!" Eloise's hair had turned that usual shade of crimson as the anger seeped out of her every pore. Lily still didn't say anything but her glare had softened slightly, "I don't like not talking, Lils, I'm used to having my best friend to chat to every day, even if I spend the entire day with the boys, we always have our catch ups at night in the dorm." Eloise's hair had returned to their normal shade of brown, although there was a slight tinge of blue at the bottoms. "I miss talking about boys and plaiting each other's hair. I miss letting you pick out my outfit for dates with Sirius for you to only change your mind right before I leave. I miss watching you laugh as me and Marlene rant about History of Magic and how you'll always defend the teacher. I miss you and me, Lily. And most of all I miss you." Tears had appeared in Eloise's eyes as she looked at her best friend, the latter's arms had uncrossed and her green eyes had also glossed over, "I miss my best friend." the last part was a whisper as Eloise looked to the ground.

She heard footsteps and Lily's arms had been thrown around her neck,

"I miss you too, Elle." Lily sniffed and Eloise wrapped her arms around her, "I'm sorry I took it so far, I just- it got me thinking...What if I actually lost you?" she pulled back from he hug, "I don't think I could go on if I lost you, Eloise, you're my best friend and I love you."

"I love you more." Eloise whispered with a smile,

"I love you most." Lily argued and it was silent for a moment as the pair hugged again until,

"You got that from that muggle movie Rapunzel didn't you?"

"Shut up, Eloise."

"Yeah, okay."

"Who was it?"

"I'm not telling you, Berry."

"Come on, Nate, who?"

"I'm not telling you either, Joker."

"Who was what?" Lily asked from the armchair and Eloise and Sirius turned away from Nathan who they snuck into the Common Room,

"Nathan kissed someone." Eloise said and leant back into Sirius' chest on the sofa to continue interrogating Nathan who was sat on the floor,

"Ooh, who was it?" Lily asked, setting her book down and crossing her legs on the chair. Eloise looked up at her with a raised eyebrow with Sirius wearing the same expression, "Oh right." Lily blushed. Eloise shook her head and looked to her curly-haired friend,

"Please, Natey, who was it? We won't tell a soul...promise!" she turned to Sirius and Lily who nodded furiously in agreement,

"I'm not telling you, Berry, but not because I don't want to, he doesn't want to." he told them and Eloise's shoulders slumped,

"Fiiiine." she whined, "But I am going to find out eventually." she told him, pointing a finger at the Hufflepuff,

"I don't doubt you will, Little Miss Berry Holmes."

It was a full moon. Again. But this time, the Marauders were late. Remus was already in the shack...or by that point he was Moony, but Eloise, Sirius, James and Peter had been held back by a certain someone, that someone being a snooping Severus Snape. They were crossing the grounds to the Whomping Willow when James held up a hand for them to stop. He beckoned for them to follow him and casted 'Lumos' to light the wall in which Snape was crouching behind,

"Decided to go for a little spying session did we, Snivellus?" James asked cruelly,

"I though Lily was your usual subject, Sniv, what made you come after little old us?" Eloise inquired, the same disgusted look on her face as her brother,

"I wanted to see what you were up to." Snape said in his usual nasally voice as he stood from his crouched position, "What are you doing out so late?" he asked,

"I don't remember it ever being your business, slimy git." Sirius chipped in and Snape curled his lip,

"It may not be mine, but it will be Professor McGonagall's when I report you." he threatened, looking around the group, "Where's Lupin?" he asked and the group went silent, "Where does he disappear to every month." he asked again and Eloise saw a smirk fall across Sirius' face.

"We can show you." he said and James and Eloise shared a wide-eyed look,

"Pads, what-"

"You see the Whomping Willow? Press that knot near the trunk and a passage will open, follow it." he told the greasy-haired boy with a malicious grin. He turned to Eloise whose mouth was open in shock,

"No!" she shouted but Snape was already gone, levitating a branch to hit the knot, "Sirius you absolute wanker!" she shouted, morphing into a small cat for speed and chasing after Snape. Sirius looked crestfallen and he turned to James who looked furious,

"That was fucking stupid, Sirius! Remus is in there! If he hurts Snape he'll never forgive himself!" he shouted before sprinting off himself, not turning into Prongs so he could fit through the tunnel. Sirius ran a hand through his hair and saw Peter still looking shocked,

"I fucked up didn't I, Pete?" he asked, his voice a whisper and Peter nodded slowly,

"I'm afraid so, Pads." with that, both boys ran down the tunnel.
