I watch the scene unfold in horror

I watch the scene unfold in horror. Frozen in shock, there's absolutely nothing I can do as my friend plummets off of the roof.

Jane turns to me with a cold smile.

An unstoppable hurricane grows inside of me and a feel lightning in my veins as I clench my fists. My knuckles turn blue from the tension and my breath grows heavier as I try gathering my rage. Before Jane can open her mouth, I storm forward with an endless violence, I've only felt in glimpses before.

Jane only smiles wider at my attack, but I don't let it phase me. Bringing out my raw side of fighting instead of what I've been trained, I rely purely on emotion as I charge at Jane.

I kick up to get leverage and bring my fist down with the intent to break Jane's skull. Jane calmly blocks and grabs my fist just in time so she can twist it and make me yell in pain. Angered, I bring my foot up from behind over my head to smash into Jane's face, but she catches it as well. In the tangled position, I remember some of my training and let my body unfold in a spin.

The power I put behind the spin lets me rotate almost twice before I land on my knees. Jane doesn't bring her foot into my face like I anticipate and instead does a somersault over me - grabbing my torso in the process and flips me over. I land on my head and dots dance in my vision as I slide across the roof. When I look up, a boot comes crashing onto my head and I lose track of where I am for a second.

I blink my eyes - trying to regain my focus, but as I do it, I feel firm hands grabbing my head on either side. Knowing she's trying to snap my neck, I flip backwards and onto my arms - letting my legs come up to what I hope is Jane's face. I thank the gods that are listening when I feel my steel-tipped boot satisfyingly sink onto Jane's soft cheek.

I sense Jane stumble back just as I regain my vision. Still basically doing a handstand, I push myself and jump back onto my feet. Knowing fighting with emotion isn't helping me in this fight, I remember to bend my knees and hold out my fists in a fighting stance.
