Light.

That's the last thing they remembered. A very bright light. Illuminating, encapsulating, invigorating, blinding. Destroying.

Before.

What was before? A figure was approaching them, in the middle of the light, completely submerged in it. One with it.

It was different, different than the other figure.

It felt familiar to them. Inviting, not intimidating. What was it? And why did it feel familiar? The twins had never felt such a presence before, so why—

Thump~~

Wait—

Thump~~

The other figure.

Thump~~

Yes that one.

Thump~~

The one they tried to kill. The one they failed to kill. The one that brought all the primals with it. The one that caused everything to go wrong. The one that caused everything to end.

Thump thump~~

What exactly happened again?

Thump~~

Everyone was dying around them. They tried to escape. They tried making their way back to their family.

Thump thump~~

That's when they saw...

Thump~~

The sight that sent them down the spiral of pure, uncontrollable rage in the first place.

Thump thump~~

Aunty and Uncle.

THUMP~~

Dead.

THUMP THUMP~~

And Mama.

THUMP THUMP~~

Clutching onto that thing.

THUMP THUMP~~

The very light leaving her eyes as she looked over to them.

THUMP THUMP~~

Giving that sad smile.

THUMP THUMP~~

She smiled at us.

THUMP THUMP~~

She showed her babies a sad smile, one that ironically and bizarrely looked at peace.

THUMP THUMP~~

Yet so pained. So agonizingly beautiful, so flawlessly cruel.

THUMP THUMP~~

What did Mama say again?

THUMP~~

She promised...

THUMP THUMP~~

Ewe, she promised didn't she?

THUMP~~

That she'd always be with us.

THUMP THUMP~~

Until the very end.

THUMP THUMP~~
