From the Country to the City

We sat there for a few minutes in silence before I spoke up "Colby.. say something.." I didn't look up at him. He ran his hand through his hair. He slowly grabbed my hand, intertwining our fingers

I looked at his hand, then up at him. He smiled and blushed a little, looking away and then back at me "I like you too."
My mouth fell open a little and I pulled away "wait don't be playing. This isn't part of the prank wars is it?" He laughed watching me "no Hunter, this is not part of the prank wars."
I put out my pink finger and he took it in his, we kissed our thumbs and then connected them at the top. I stopped realizing it was true "you mean it.." He nodded. "Since?" He laughed "honestly? I've always had a small crush on you, but I realized it was a lot stronger than I thought after our fight.."
I laughed "Great timing." He laughed "I know. But how you stood up to me, showed me how passionate you are and how much you care. That's when I knew." I hugged him. He chuckled, hugging back. He stood up, and I buried my face in his neck as he wrapped my legs around his waist.
"I missed you so damn much." I said. He smiled, "I missed you too."
I was finally in his arms. I was warm. I was protected. I was home.
We stayed like that for a few minutes until he set me down. I looked up at him and we were both smiling from ear to ear. I sat down on the bed again and he sat next to me. He intertwined our fingers again and my cheeks turned pink. I could feel my heart racing and my stomach had butterflies.
It was completely silent for a moment and then he kissed my cheek. I looked up at him.
//Wow a cheek kiss, big deal. Actually to me it is. He was the first boy I ever liked so I had never been kissed by a boy. Let alone on the cheek.//
"Wait." He laughed a little "so are we best friends or more?" I laughed "Colby Brock if that's your way of asking me out." "Oh you wanna play it that way. Alright then I'll plan something." I smiled again, "Good. Wanna go horse back riding?" He rubbed the back of my thumb with his "uh.. I don't know how.." I laughed "that's okay! I can teach you." He nodded "okay." "Yay! Okay I have to go back to the dorm to get changed. Can you drive me?"
He nodded "grab a pair of swim trunks and like a tank." I ran back to the guest room to grab my stuff. He grabbed a tank and a pair of swim trunks.
I came back and grabbed his hand "c'mon!" He laughed and we walked downstairs. "Where are you going?" Ellie asked. Her and Jake were sitting on the couch. "Horseback riding!" I said. "Wait I have to use the bathroom." I went to the bathroom and he headed out to his car. I came back out and walked to the car. I pulled on the handle and Colby looked at me. I grabbed my phone, opening Snapchat.

He laughed, unlocking the door. I got in "jerk." He couldn't stop smiling.
We headed to the college. On the way we listened to music, talked, and joked around.
We arrived at the college and he parked the car. We walked to the dorm and I unlocked the door. We walked in and I threw my bag on my bed. Colby looked around "you can sit on my bed." He nodded, sitting down. I grabbed some clothes and went to the bathroom to change. "I can step out instead." "It's alright." I got changed and walked back out.
I was wearing a tank top and jean shorts with my bikini underneath. I put my flip flops on. Colby looked at me and cleared his throat. I looked at him and laughed a little "what?" He shook his head "nothing." I smiled, biting my lip "Sure tiger." I grabbed my hat "ready?" He nodded and we walked back out to the car. We got in, heading to the stables "do you always get looks like that?" I nodded, sighing "Yeah, when I'm dressed like this."
"So why did you ask me to bring swim trunks?"
"Cause we are going horseback riding on the beach in Long Beach."
He started the car and we got on the highway, heading to Long Beach.
