Ross' POV

Laura fell asleep crying and leaning on me. She endured way more than intended tonight, but I now have more of an understanding of her situation, no our situation.

I carried Laura to the bedroom where Pocket was already sleeping soundly.

We really need to get him a dog bed.

I'm surprised that Laura hasn't woken up yet, I froze though and brought my finger down to her neck checking for a pulse. I sighed in relief when I felt the steady tempo of my favorite beat. Just the thought of her heart never pumping blood and giving her a pink blush on her face made my heart shatter. I am truly thankful for the faulty Siri.

I looked at the room and the bed and decided it would be best to sleep in the guestroom, it feels odd sleeping without her. There's all of this space to stretch out on, but my body won't allow me to do so. I had to grab a large pillow at the end of the bed as a decoy Laura, it felt pathetic hugging that pillow, but all thoughts vanished when I smelt her aroma in my nostrils.

"Ross are you sure about this?" Laura looked out the car window again towards the lake.

"I used to come here all the time with my parents" I grabbed her hand and kissed the back of it.

"But its freezing out there!" A shiver ran through her at the thought of making contact with that water. I leaned in towards her neck and placed soft butterfly kisses.

"Well we're just going to have to warm each other up." She shivered again, but not from the cold.

She turned her face towards me, our lips millimeters apart, our breaths intermingling. I closed my eyes and started to lean in closer, but I'm met with air. I reopened my eyes to see Laura out of the car striping out of her clothes quickly.

"Race ya!" I jumped out of the car and got my sweatpants off in a flash than peeled my shirt and sweater off. I started charging at Laura making her shriek loudly and start running off towards the water.
