Waking up had to be one of the most pleasant experiences I've ever had, which is surprising seeing as I was sleeping on the floor. Last night was filled with party games, playful arguing, and google translate. The only people who spoke English in our friend group were Luka and Juleka because of their Dad who apparently traveled quite a bit so their mom had picked it up and eventually them.

We got into the routine of me repeating the question or statement of either party in either English or French so everyone could understand. Nevertheless, it was the most fun I've had in a long time.

Currently, the window in the kitchen is basking the room with beams of gold, all of us spread out amongst the various furniture and the floor. Everyone was still passed out on the account that we fell asleep around four in the morning.

I willed myself to flip over so I was on my back staring at the ceiling, watching particles of dust dance in the rays of sunlight. My mind had yet to calm down after last night, so much has happened in the last 24 hours.

'And to think I thought I wasn't gonna celebrate my birthday.'

The thought was laughable now, and in hindsight, I should've known that my friends would have dragged me out of the house either way. My position on my back was growing more uncomfortable by the second, I turned over to lay on my side to remedy it. But flinched back in surprise as I locked eyes with Luka.

Last night he had volunteered to take the floor with me and Jake. The latter is still sleeping soundly to my left. Luka grabbed my arm before I could fall backward onto my secret bandmate. I smiled sheepishly at him.

"Thanks, good morning."

I whispered, and he gave a curt nod.

"Morning."

He chuckled, continuing to stare at me. My brows furrowed.

"Why do you always stare like that?"

He hummed unsurely, and his hand moved up to play with my hair. I sighed in contentment, settling further into my pillow.

"I don't know, I don't really have a reason to look away."

I sucked in a breath at his statement feeling my face start to warm. I forced myself to sit up.

"Well I do, you can head back to bed if you want."

He sat up with me despite my comment, running a hand through his bed head.

"Na I'll join you, I gotta know how you make your killer breakfasts."

I rolled my eyes but continued to tiptoe past my sleeping friends into the kitchen. I took a hair band off my wrist and tied back my hair, rolled the sleeves of my sweatshirt up, and washed my hands.

Luka leaned against the counter next to me, reaching down to pat Snickers on the head.

"Actually do you mind-"

I was curtly cut off by a knock at the door, the others didn't stir in their sleep as the knocking echoed across the apartment. Luka shot me a look which shrugged in response too, already making my way over to greet the surprise guest. To say I was surprised by the person who stood in front of me would be an understatement.

Adrien, still in his pajamas, stood leaning against the doorway panting. He was hunched over slightly, overtaking me with his frame, I took a half step back. The situation gave me deja vu the first time we hung out solo.

"Did you run here?"

"Heard you made-"

He pauses, taking a deep breath and straightening up.
