After reading the part where Arlow Tsai was a wanted criminal, Arl lifted the two feminine legs up to the chair and uses arms to wrap them.
The elLans walked over to the screen that had the communique, then walked back to Arl. They put their hands on Arl's shoulders and head and gave encouraging smiles.
Soon, the Wroug woman corrects herself. "Wait, wait. They want you at a level generally reserved for extraditing criminals. They think that you could not possibly be here. Let's see, they think Arlow Tsai is actually still on earth?? "
The Wroug woman starts some scanning and then says. OK, you are a 15th binary duplicate. Now that we know to look for it, the evidence is obvious. The elLans are clearly surprised.
Arl: "But I was just on Earth...right before dropping down here in the park."
Wroug Woman: "That is how it would work if the duplications happened immediately. You would experience no gaps in perceived memory."
Arl: "I am a copy?? I could have stood in for that alLan in the park?"
The elLans try to be encouraging "The girl that volunteered was so happy. It does not change who you are."
Arl: "Fifteenth binary duplicate, so there are possibly 16 Arlow Tsai in the universe?"
Wroug Woman: "As few as that, but."
Arl: "oh right. As many as about 15,000 copies?"
Arl begins to really withdrawal. Muttering "imacopy,imacopy,.."
The Wroug Woman turns away, and the elLans chide Arl, "See now, you are making her unsettle."
Arl: "imacopy,imacopy, imacopy,imacopy,"
The elLans ask the Wroug medical worker if they can run a diagnostic. She agrees.
One elLan puts her hand on Arlow Tsai's head, and Arl goes unconscious. Holding the head and lifting by the legs, they place Arl on the examination table with pillows and blankets. Arl's health readings on the display show restful sleep.
The Wroug Woman eventually calms and asks what kind of diagnostic that was. The elLan says it is synaptic overcoming test, the diagnostic determines how much of an electric field will cause unconsciousness. This little one had such a chaotic synaptic state, it took hardly any outside influence at all.
The Wroug Woman says: "Please go to the terminal and describe what you just did. I might also want to see about using that technique for other patients."
The elLan types it in and does nothing more. She is a very skilled hacker, and an even more skilled forensic data investigator. She thinks that now is definitely not the time to be seen as untrustworthy.
Especially with this new detail. Arlow Tsai was created / duplicated.
For a while, she looks at the sleeping Arl, and imagines 15,000 adorable 'Arl's surrounding her for a nap.
