"hubby" helps "second" to stand and moves to lead her away. The Supervisor asks for them all to turn around in a circle for data scanning.
"hubby" is familiar with acting skills that invoke perceptions in others. He could not see the energies as they moved. So he thinks "first" is allowing her irrational fears to create a mystic mood.
He whispers phrases to the medical supervisor as he leads "Second" away. 'Induced False Lucidity', 'Perception Transference', 'Irrational Perception Adherence'.
"first" remains in the room with the Medical Facility Supervisor to talk.
"second" moves with "hubby" quietly out and back to where Ami is. She has heard all those phrases before. People without a calm spirit and do not perceive spirit energies. Her supporter, "hubby", did not really see what happened.
Even with her systems back on, "second" feels many things about "first". Some things had happened to "second" that made her want to flee her life, even when the memories were suppressed. She now senses something about "first", indistinct things that happened to "first" as a child. Deep and sad and horrible.
Zap gun fire fights and incredible explosions that flatten buildings. Young "first" standing in the middle, only knee high.
"second" sits down on the bench in the room with Ami.
Words spin in her thoughts. Those words, no never.. not.. those words. Words used by operatives of the royal court for untold generations. "Never Fail". They kill each other by the dozens, each saying the same phrase (on both sides).
"second" is confused. Being pretty sure. There have been no intra-operative battles between Lan for a very, very long time. Harder yet to think of a time when Lan operatives used actual zap guns (not zap systems installed).
"first" and the medical supervisor return to the room. The supervisor goes to the far side, and "first" slides in and snuggles into "second".
"second" sits herself tall and formal, but is inviting for "first" to snuggle more. Formal posture is good for the moral of those around. Today she finds more joy in it than ever before.
