Arlow sits against a boulder. His face is turned aside. A face held by the hands of creature he knows by voice.

Rationality beckons. There were no other children at the commune with Arl when he was young. It was a place that only accepted those of twenty-one years or older.

He never actually went playing and swinging and dancing with girls in a glade at dusk.

Those energetic girls called that amazing place, the glade of pleasant memory, 'Dreamland'.

"Are you thoughts getting a little clearer? Arlow Tsai?

Because there a little game.. a little bet.. I have taken on.

If you know the best choice. We will give you everything you seek in your quest.

We can give you all the answers and keep you safe until that day when you can see it.

You are a very close to the Mage Learning Institute, just a brief walk.. and you would be there.

Seeing humans wield magic. They would tell you everything they know. They would like you. Some of the female guards would kiss you. Testing if they were sure it was you. They would share the sad tale of a girl from someplace faraway (Earth), and that day a powerful magic being had her trapped. How a human man from Earth appeared just above that creature and drove shafts of strange metal through it and into the ground.

Dispelling the magic creature and saving the junior girl.

That copy of you, Arlow Tsai, appeared on your bicycle that day.

In falling down from a height with you, the bicycle cracked and then split the creature and drained the magic with the aluminum bicycle frame into the ground.

If you went there, many would recount that tale. They would give Mead. Treat you like a hero. Even knowing that it was not you that did it.

So what is stopping you? Arlow Tsai.. It is not far away at all."

Arlow's eyes looked over in that direction. Just up the hill.

Then he looked back into the eyes of the diminutive winged girl.

Those girls had games.. tests..

Things were always happier when Arlow passed a challenge or a test.

"Tell me more? About your offer.. that thing you called the best choice."

Wings glistened and fluttered. She let go of Arlow's face and rose slightly above his head.

"I cannot tell you more. You would just have to accept. You would be in our hands completely. Not knowing how we would do it. Just trusting us.. that we would do it."
