Whispers

~An Hour Later ~ Third Person~

Vanessa woke up in the loft. She stretched and got out of bed

'When did I fall asleep?'

She walked downstairs. It was weird waking up here. She didn't intend to keep falling asleep there. The first time it had been late and she just fell asleep and David took her upstairs. The second time she was trying to get away from Snow and David's arguing and she knew that if she had left the loft then they would have been even more upset so she had decided to go upstairs and she accidentally fell asleep

"Hey, Ness" David greeted from the kitchen. 

"Hey..."

Vanessa shifted on her feet "I uh... I'm sorry..."

David looked up at her confused. Why was she apologizing?

"For what?"

She bit her lip. "For stealing the boat with Hook, you and Hook getting into a fist-fight, and you and Snow getting into an argument..."

"Ness..." David walked over and out his hands on her shoulders "None of those things were your fault. Okay, maybe you shouldn't have gotten onto the boat but other than that it's not your fault. Hook and I got into a fight because of what he said and Mary Margaret got into an argument because of the fight between me and Hook. It wasn't your fault"

Vanessa shrugged. "I'm gonna go to Granny's. I'll see you later"

David nodded and went back into the kitchen to finish what he had been doing. Vanessa left the Loft and started going towards Granny's. 

Word had got around that Vanessa was in town and that she was the daughter of Snow and Charming. Now everyone would stare at her and whisper. Vanessa could only hear snippets of what they were saying

'She says she's Snow and Charming's daughter'

'She's way too young to be Emma's twin, even if she didn't age for a while'

'Why did she even come to Storybrooke? Does she think that they'd accept her into their family? If they gave her up then it was for a good reason'

Vanessa ran into Granny's. She sat at the counter and put her head down. She knew that people would think some mean things about her but that last one was unexpected. They knew Snow and Charming better than anyone. They accept everyone into their family, why wouldn't they accept Vanessa?

"You okay?" Ruby asked Vanessa as she walked over with Vanessa's Iced Coffee

Vanessa picked up her head. "Yeah" She looked at the coffee with a confused look on her face "I didn't order anything yet"

"I know. But you always order this so I figured you'd want it" Ruby smiled "Are you sure you're okay?"

Vanessa nodded. She grabbed the coffee and left. 

Again, people started whispering. Vanessa was trying to push them out of her head. She couldn't understand why she felt hurt by the whispers. She's been through so much that people saying bad or mean things about her doesn't bother her

'Heard she stole a boat. Wonder how she talked Emma and David out of arresting her'

'Wonder if she's only here to get information on everyone'

'She shouldn't be here'

Vanessa agreed with that last one. She shouldn't be here. She doesn't belong in Storybrooke

All the whispers swirled around in her head. She didn't belong here. No one wants her here. Snow and Charming don't want her. They never did. That's why they gave her up
