Night came quickly, Ivo had spent most of the day on deck with everyone else, but Alana was not allowed to see the gruesome bodies that were left behind in the battle.
After dinner Ivo and Alana returned to his room, receiving envious looks from certain crew members.
However, when the door shut, it was nothing but awkward silence. Ivo floated around his room, moving around small things by a minuscule amount. Alana stood still at the door where he left her.

"We're going to dock tomorrow and go into town to get supplies." He broke the silence with the only thing he could think of talking about.
"Really?" Alana took an excited step forward with a big smile.
His heart skipped a beat seeing her so happy.
"Yes, we also have some business to attend to in this town."
"Which town?" Alana was so excited to be stopping at a new town she could barely contain her excitement.
"Oldkeep, in Taycia territory." He moved to his bed to have a seat.

Alana knew of it, she was forced to study maps of her kingdom and read texts of all the towns and cities she might one day rule over. It was a large port town known for the many merchants and exotic goods that came through. It was supposedly one of pride and joys of Taycia.

"You will be joining us." Ivo mentioned and her excitement only grew.
She was a little worried that because she was a prisoner, she would have to stay on the ship, but she would have been just as happy to look at the town from the deck.
She stood with excitement bubbling from her pores.
"Here," Ivo spoke smoothly, motioning with his index and middle finger for her to come toward him.
She was too excited about the news to hesitate, she came and sat beside him on the bed. She almost did not even notice fingers working on her laces in the front of her dress.
"I-Ivo?" She stuttered looking to him worriedly.
He would not take advantage me, right? I trust Ivo.

"I'm simply helping you get ready for bed." He said casually as if he was uninterested with the whole situation.

"Oh, then you don't have to help me." The naïve girl smiled, replacing his fingers with hers.

She undid her corset front, the fabric around her chest loosening with every pull. She stood and reached for the hem of her dress to remove the top layer, but her wrist was grabbed, and she was thrown back on the bed.
It happened so quickly she did not have time to defend herself. Her wrists were being held above her head by just one of Ivo's hands as he straddled over her.

"Little dove, why are you so trusting of a strange man?" He asked using his other hand to hold her chin gently.

She looked up at his beautiful features, his captivating pale green eyes that searched hers, and his soft brown hair cascading around his ivory face.

"You're not." She said softly. "You're not a strange man, Ivo."
She glanced to his pale pink lips and blushed, quickly averting her gaze.

"You don't know me," He whispered, his tone was low and unlike his usual cheery one, as fake as it was.

She squirmed a little beneath him and his heart swelled. He examined her features as a work of art, her full lips parted, her thick lashes blinking at him, and only him.
Just look at me forever, Alana, and only me.
"I know, but I trust you." She smiled, and as odd as the whole situation was, it was a true smile.
Even as he hovered over like a predator, she still smiled at him, she still trusted him.
I need her. Ivo thought to himself as he released his hold on her and climbed off her.
"I just hope you don't snore." He said laying down on 'his side' of the bed. She just giggled, kicked off her boots and laid down on the inside of the bed.

That night Ivo dreamed of his little dove perched on a golden swing, inside the bird cage he kept on his desk.
