Time went on by, and things were slowly settling between Arnav and I with our families. Would we ever get back to the way things were before the fight? Only time would be able to tell. For now, it was the reconciliation that mattered.

Now that things were much calmer than before, I found it very strange. After the whirlwind we had been through these past six months, it just felt very weird. At times, I even felt paranoid - paranoid that this was the calm before another storm. After all, things were nice and calm before this whole Kinjal situation began! But Arnav and Raghav repeatedly told me to not worry and that I should come out of my paranoia. I did my best, and I tried to keep it to myself, but still I couldn't help but to worry at times. Although Kinjal was tightly under wraps and watched at all times by security, I couldn't help but to not trust her at times. There were moments where I even thought she was planning things secretly, and it was ready to drive me insane!

"I think it's become clear that we need a vacation."

I frowned at Arnav. "A vacation?"

"Yeah, a vacation."

Arnav went over to the lounger and started up his laptop while I continued to frown at him. I agree that lately I've been very caught up in my thoughts. I mean he just found me zoned out while being paranoid over Kinjal, but I mean really? A vacation?

"Arnav, no, what are you doing?"

"I'm not going to listen to a word you say Khushi," he said, his eyes still on the screen. "I'm taking you away for a few days, and that's final."

"But-"

"But nothing Khushi, I won't hear it."

What the!

"That's not exactly fair," I pouted, as if I were a child.

"That's the point," he said, still keeping his eyes on the screen as he clicked away.

"But-"

"Hold that thought," he said as his phone suddenly began to ring. "Yeah, Aman."

Arnav got up and stepped out to the poolside, leaving me behind, frowning.

He can't be serious, can he? I mean how can we leave like this? With everything that's been going on and now having to fix everything with the family.... What is Arnav thinking?! We can't just go away like-!

"Good news, we're going to the Maldives," Arnav beamed as he came back into the room.

"What the?!"

"Now babe, that's my line," he frowned, and he went into the dressing room.

What- Maldives?! But we can't-! "Arnav!"

I followed after him, going into the dressing room to find him rummaging through his clothes.

"What are you doing," I scowled, crossing my arms.

"Uh, pretty sure it looks like I'm packing."

"Why?!"

Arnav turned to me with a frown. "Baby, I'm pretty sure I already made that clear."

"But-! It-! I-!" Letting out a heavy sigh, my shoulders sagged. "We can't go to the Maldives, Arnav. Kinjal could pop anytime soon, we need to keep an eye out for Dad and help him out, your family and my family have fallen apart-"

Arnav came over to me, placing his hands on my shoulders. "Breathe, Khushi... breathe."

"I can't," I nearly whispered.

"Which is exactly why we need to go away. You said so yourself two weeks ago how our six months of marriage have felt more like six years. That shouldn't be the case, yet unfortunately, given our... circumstances, to term it nicely, has made it that way. Heck, because of all that crap, we couldn't even celebrate our first Valentine's Day properly."

Well, that's unfortunately true. Given that Valentine's day was only two days after that whole big blow up, it's no wonder why we didn't get to do much.

Reaching up, Arnav tucked my hair behind my ear. "It's only for a few days, baby, that's it," he said softly. "After everything that's happened... a vacation is very much necessary."

"But-"

"And I doubt Kinjal will pop any time soon. According to Raghav, she isn't due till May, so we've got plenty of time and nothing to blow our brains over."

I let out a sigh and Arnav placed a kiss on my forehead. For a moment, we just stood there, Arnav holding me in his arms. If it weren't for Arnav's phone ringing, he would've held onto me a bit longer, but duty calls, and Arnav stepped away to take it.

"By the way Khushi, when I'm done with this call, I want to see that you've been packing," he admonished.

I rolled my eyes at him and Arnav smiled in return, then left to take the call.

Sigh... we're actually going away... away from all the madness....

The last time Arnav and I went away anywhere was... well for our honeymoon.

Such a beautiful time that was. It blows my mind a little that it wasn't even that many months ago, and yet, that is the reality of things.

Maybe Arnav's right about taking a vacation.

Feeling a bit more positive about the idea, I continued what Arnav had started, packing his stuff along with mine. A little over fifteen minutes later, Arnav popped back in, and when he saw the bags of luggage, he smiled.

"Good job babe," he grinned, looking at the bags.

"I've packed two bags for each of us so far, though it would help to know how long we're going to be away for."

"I wouldn't worry about that."

Huh? "Why not," I frowned, tilting my head.

A small smirk spread over Arnav's face and he made his way over to me, moving behind me and holding me in his arms.

"Should it happen that we run out of clothes to wear," he began, "then we'll just stay naked."

What?!

"Arnav," I scolded, smacking at his hand.

Not that it did anything, only making him smile. "Come on baby, you know you like the idea of it."

"No, I don't, just like I don't fully like the idea of going away on a vacation right now."

"Well why not? It's perfect timing!"

"How," I frowned.

"Yesterday officially made it six months since we got married, so now we're celebrating."

I turned around in his hold. "Really? Wow," I smiled sarcastically. "Congratulations," and I shook his hand. "I can only wonder what the full one will be like!"

Arnav tilted his head as he went into thought. "That'll be bigger... oh that'll be way bigger."

The gears were obviously cranking in his head and that only terrified me. "Arnav, stop it," and I shook him slightly.

He immediately snapped out of it. "Not to worry baby, it'll be-"

"Don't. I don't want to hear anymore about it. I'm agreeing to this trip, please, no more."

Arnav only frowned in return.

Lord knows what cranks through that head of his.
