THE LACROSSE FIELD WAS CHAOTIC when Lydia and I arrived. Coach Finstock was shouting, mostly at Greenberg though and I assumed he was taking his anger out on the boy. The team were crowded around Jackson as he sat on the bench, holding an ice pack to his shoulder while Danny and the boy who tried to hit on me on Friday — Brian — sat next to him.

I looked around for Scott and Stiles but I couldn't spot my friends anywhere. Danny saw Lydia and I walking over and he got up from the bench and jogged over to us both, "Are you taking Jackson to the hospital?" He asked us, "Coach won't let anyone leave, he wants to carry on practice so we're ready for the game on Saturday."

"I'm not taking him." I shook my head, "Lydia is."

Danny nodded, "As long as one of you are."

I watched Lydia press her lips together as she looked over to Jackson on the bench. She didn't even look like she wanted to take him to the hospital and I couldn't blame her.

"What happened?" She asked curiously.

Danny shrugged, "I don't know, McCall just rammed him and he fell."

"That's not like Scott." I said to my friend with a frown, looking around the field, "Where is he anyways?"

"I'm not sure actually." Danny said to me.

"Well, I just hope he can still play on Saturday." Lydia hummed, lifting her chin as she looked over at Jackson. The person I was talking to in the library had long disappeared now, she was back to the facade she put on whenever she roamed in the public eye.

"You and Coach both." Danny muttered and the three of us turned to the man.

Finstock was going red in the face from shouting at Greenberg and I saw the boy was the only one doing laps of the field while everyone else was huddled around Danny. I wasn't sure why Coach used Greenberg to let off his anger — I think it was a coping mechanism for him whenever he was stressed but damn did I feel sorry for the boy.

My cell started buzzing in my pocket, on silent from the school day and I retrieved it from the pocket of my jacket as it rang. Lydia walked over to Jackson, leaving Danny and I as I accepted the call.

"You need to come to the locker room." Stiles voice carried through my speaker and into my ear as I held my phone there.

"What are you doing there?" I asked him, "It's carnage out here."

"Scott wolfed out." He said to me simply.

My eyes widened a little and I looked to the big group of boys still busy around Jackson. My friend had shifted in front of them? He'd used his new strength against Jackson and now he was having go to the hospital.

I looked to Danny and caught his eye, "I'll see you later." I said to him and he looked at me as if to question who I was on the phone to. I pointed to it against my ear, "My ride.. tell Lydia to call me later."

"All right." He nodded as I walked away, "Bye."

"Bye, Danny!" I said and once I was out of ear shot I returned to my conversation with Stiles, "Scott wolfed out on the field? Are you sure?"

"Oh no." He scoffed, "He didn't wolf out on the field. He wolfed out in the locker room and tried to kill me."

"Stiles what the hell?" My eyes widened, "A-are you okay?"

"I mean I doused him with foam from a fire extinguisher before he got the chance to kill me." He replied to me.

"Where is he now? Are you still with him?" I asked as I walked into the school building, pushing the blue double doors open and walking down the empty hall.
