I couldn't get much sleep. All the memories I created with Claire last night kept flying around my mind. She had pushed me against the sand and closed my eyes with a napkin she found nearby.

"Stay still!" she had told me.

I didn't know what she had in mind but I couldn't help but get excited.

"What's on your mind?" I laughed feeling her walking around.

"You'll see once I'm finished!" I heard her cheerful voice.

I was laying on the sand wet from head to toe but didn't felt cold or anything.

"Hope this lasts till tomorrow, I didn't bring my camera with me". I heard her voice and hands clapping followed.

"There, this should do it".

She gently had opened my eyes and I stood up. Once I saw what she did, I was left speechless.

"Well? Do they resemble yours?" she asked and I gazed at the wings she had drawn on the sand.

She even used some rocks for details.

"I wish they would. They look brilliant. I can't believe you took the time to draw these".

"I didn't want to go home just yet plus, I wanted to repay you for the wings on my back which are probably ruined by now".

She wasn't lying about that. The sea water had indeed washed the paint off.

"Thank the Moon I took that photo right?"

Her smile had widened.

"Totally".

Remembering this I smiled and gazed to the bed next to me. She was sleeping soundly with her hair slightly wet. It was late so we didn't have to worry about anyone seeing us. To bring us home faster I created a water cloud which we rode. We were home in two minutes and the cloud watered Claire's garden as it exploded to rainy drops.

I quietly stood up and approached Claire. My job in her house wasn't done yet. I brushed some hair away from her face and made sure that she was asleep before leaving her room. Her house was so quiet and peaceful at night. I wish my home felt like that too. I looked at the time to see that it was already past four. Quietly I walked towards her parents' bedroom. As expected they were deep sleeping. Now, anyone would think that I was being strange or even creepy but I only needed five minutes to change a life. I stood in front of Claire's and placed my hands above his chest.

Earlier today he told me about his fears about the possibility of not waking up tomorrow morning. He didn't inform Mrs. Margaret or Claire because he didn't want them to get worried or make them sad. That's been happening the past month, his condition worsened day by day but he kept silent about it. I could change all that and that thanks to mom's genes. I, along with the moon children, could use healing magic. Using healing magic thought meant that you needed to consume some of your life energy. We, tribe children, had plenty of it and we could also restore it using the temples of our realms. But the bigger the damage, the more life energy was consumed. Now, I knew that something like that would make me weak but I didn't mind. I could just sneak into the temple at an hour no one's patrolling. Healing magic though could only be used by the moon children so if I was found out at the temple I'd get in huge trouble. Eclipse and Sun children use their temples only to pray or cleansing and rarely to restore life force because simply they can't use healing magic. It'd be much easier for me to use the Moon temple but even though I had some characteristics I still belonged to the Eclipse Tribe. The Moon temple wouldn't do anything.

Without giving it further thought, the usual blue light came out of my hands slowly disappearing into Mr. Moon's body. I could sense that the damage was huge and the amount of weakness his body had was dangerous so I immediately increased my magic. Three minutes passed and I started feeling dizzy. I could keep going though, just two more minutes. The bed cracked and I briefly raised my eyes to see Mrs. Margaret starring at me in surprise. I was sure I didn't make a sound but still she was able to sense something happening. I smiled gently at her and I placed my pointing finger on my lips asking her to stay quite about this. I could see tears rolling down her eyes due to the blue light I created and without saying a word I focused again. Sweat made its appearance on my forehead and the moment I thought I'd pass out the process was completed.

I took some steps back to regain my balance and quietly walked out of the room.

Once I reached Claire's room, I threw my heavy body to Ian's bed. That needed to be done. My condition didn't bother me. I'd make sure to visit the eclipse temple tomorrow night and fix it but Claire's dad... If I wasn't there and from what I had felt, he...

He was really going to leave his last breath tonight.

"Claire, why are you holding back? You need to hit me like you mean it, I'll dodge so don't worry", I advised Claire who had learnt to use the water like a pro but had no intention of hitting me.

"Easier said than done. Say, if I asked you to hit me with your thunder, would you do it?"

"No? You're inexperienced yet".

"But why? I'll dodge it", she mocked my words and I couldn't help but smile.

"I don't know that for sure".

"See? Now you're getting what I'm saying plus, you don't look that good today. What's wrong?" she asked approaching me after she returned her water arrows in the sea.

"It's probably a cold, we did bathe in freezing waters yesterday", I lied.

"We did, didn't we? It was fun though. Hope you're not getting a fever". She said placing her palm on my forehead.

"Oh my God you do have a fever! Why didn't you say anything this morning Nathan? My mother would have given you her special herbal medicine and you'd be fine in an hour or two" she scolded me.

Yeah, the only difference is that my fever appeared because I used so much life force yesterday.

"I'll be fine", I said caressing her hand but the moment I said that, my energy wore off and got down on my knees.

She was startled and quickly wrapped my arm around her neck to hold me up.

"That's anything but fine Nathan. We're going back home and you're getting some sleep".

"Medicine or sleep won't do. I need to get back to my Realm", I admitted trying to stand up.

"Back to the Eclipse Tribe? What did you do Nathan?"

She sounded really worried.

"Just used some healing magic, you must already know that it consumes life force".

"You can use healing magic?" her voice raised.

"Thanks to my mother".

"For the love of God Nathan, to who did you use so much healing magic?"

That I couldn't tell her. She'd feel obligated to repay me and that I didn't want. I stayed silent.

"I get it. I'll get you to your Realm, right now".

I flinched.

"Claire you're not stepping a foot into the Eclipse Tribe!" I spoke strictly.

"You still doubt me? You're so lucky that this deity told me where your Realm is located".

A deity? What she was talking about. She couldn't possibly have spoken to one of the Queens...

Without me realizing it, we were now standing on a water cloud like those I created and were going up.

"You're afraid of heights Claire, stop this, I can get there myself".

"Says the man who can't even stand right now. It's just a little height plus, I believe in my trained abilities".

My vision started getting blurry and I could sense Claire's hand in mine trembling. We were too high up for her. As I thought, she was terrified. I was about to scold her again but never made it. My senses left me.
