Chapter 54

Shank's P.O.V
Shanks was with his crew on a small island they had stopped there a week ago and used the island for now as a place to rest from all the travelling and for their celebrating. He looked up seriously when he heard one of his men that had been on watch for any signs of danger was yelling his name.

He placed a drink in front of the shaken man but he already knew who was on the island he didn't need to be told.

"I-It's M-Mihawk!!" The shaken man yelled before yelling in shock of the swordsman behind him and moved to the side in fear.

Shanks looked to pale man seriously. "Mihawk; don't tell me you want a fight. I'm not exactly feeling to good today for that."

"I have no interest to duel a one armed man. I came across a couple young pirates awhile and it reminds me of a story you use to tell about a strange boy and an unique girl." Mihawk showed the bounty posters of a grinning Monkey D.Luffy and a serious Luna D.Everglade.

Shanks froze and smiled widely looking to the posters that had also caught the attention of many of his crews members. "Luffy, Luna you finally made it you two. Boys this call for a celebration!"

"But captain I thought you weren't feeling well enough for any more drinks?!" A man had yelled out to Shanks.

"Nonsense this is a special occasion so everyone drink that includes you as well Mihawk." He made his old rival drink and was sitting besides him as Shanks took the wanted posters and looked to the two children he met ten and eleven years ago. "Those two have really grown up since I've seen them."

Benn got up from his spot and walked over and smiled looking at the posters. "So those two finally are on the sea's; those two are going to make names for themselves that's for sure. They both look so confident I wonder what their crew is going to be like."

Mihawk spoke up. "They travel with now former pirate hunter Roronoa Zoro ." He took out the bounties to rest of the crew. "This is their crew mates the last time I saw; I managed to get a copy of all their bounties for them taking down Crocodile in Alabasta."

Shanks froze as he looked to Mihawk. "Crocodile? They fought him?"

"Yes and they not only defeated Crocodile they also defeated his organization along the way and saved an entire kingdom from ruin." Mihawk spoke seriously. "What do you know about that boy and girl? What makes them so special?"

Shanks chuckled softly. "Luffy is from a small island that we docked on he's the grandson of Vice Admiral Garp so you know who his father is. And Luna we saved her ten years ago when he island was destroyed; the Island of assassins."

Mihawk was surprised and looked to the two children's posters. "Interesting; both are pirates and are already making names for themselves. We will see what they do with themselves in time. I came to tell you a call came not long ago to all Warlords...they have captured Portgaz D. Ace he was captured and turned in by Edward Teach or Blackbeard as he calls himself. They will no doubt soon be announcing an execution of Ace and it will be public to get Whitebeards attention."

Shanks froze and tensed up he cursed softly he was had warned Whitebeard about sending Ace after Teach. "Damn it I warned WhiteBeard not to send Ace after that man."

Mihawk looked to the red haired male besides him seriously. "You care for this boy as well? May I ask why."

Shanks sighed a little he was still tense he knew that when word reached Luna and Luffy they would would no doubt do something drastic such as trying to save Ace. "Because Luna, Luffy and Ace have made themselves all siblings apparently when they were children not long after I had left Dawn Island. When word reaches Luffy and Luna they would no doubt go to try and save Ace." Shanks froze as he realized something and he looked at Luna's poster again and frowned. "Benn look at her neck her mark."

Benn frowned taking the poster as he looked at her neck. "She's got a mating mark; and her poster says only Alive. Someone wants her alive so maybe it's someone with an animal devil fruit."

Mihawk listened and he looked to the mark and was shocked. "Her mate is apart of Cipher Pole; I heard about CP9 has a devil fruit user that is a leopard. The mark is a leopard which means that even if they wanted to kill her they can't she's protected strongly. If the government or any marines go after her then her mate would step in and he would kill to keep her safe and alive. It doesn't matter where that he works for the government his loyalty is and will always be with his mate for life."

Shanks was surprised and looked to Luna. "That means that man was there that day het island was destroyed; she despises the government and no doubt she will want to see the government brought to it's knee's one day."

Benn frowned as he moved to lean against a tree near the two powerful males on the island and looked to the other posters and froze. "Well now...one of these members in their crew I do recognize. Hey Yasopp your son has entered the sea's." He showed the poster go their sniper and chuckeld seeing that he was shocked.

Mihawk watched with Shanks as both of them were aware of the dangers to come and they saw the men laughing seeing that Yasopp's son was with Luffy and Luna. "They call themselves Strawhat Pirates."

Shanks smiled. "Those two swore they would become pirates; I know they'll make something of themselves."

"Whatever happened to the katana that you had made those years ago? I know you use to keep it in your cabin and now I see you no longer have it by your side." Mihawk shifted to get comfy.

Shanks smiled softly. "I gave it too Luna before I left Dawn Island; the sword chose her as it's wielder I wasn't going to stop it from being with her. Yes I had it made but the blade came from her island and it's only right that it's united with someone that came from that island."

Mihawk knew that Shanks worked in mysterious ways and this was one of those moments that he was reminded that his rival was a man that was to never be underestimated and that Shanks was a man that many people both feared and respected.

Mihawk sighed as he stood up and he looked to the crew that were drunk and he shook his head a little. "Just be alert and be careful Shanks; something else is going on inside of the government. Whatever is going on there it won't take it long before it shows it's face to the world."

"I know; but I'm not too worried with the new generation of pirates they may just be starting out but I got a feeling that this generation will be one unlike any other that we have ever seen." Shanks had spoken with Mihawk till Mihawk had to leave for other business and Shanks looked to the posters of Luna and Luffy. "I'm sorry you two; I'll do my best to save him." Shanks then headed back to his crew again.
