Season 2: 5# Operation Cooper

Prof. Williams' POV

We wheeled Cooper out of the emergency room to the operating theatre. We just got him changed from his pyjamas into a hospital gown so he is ready for the operation. He is also hooked up in an IV which has anti-nausea meds as well as pain killers. To prevent him from being nervous before the operation, I decided to talk to him.

Prof. Williams: Cooper, are you nervous?

Cooper: Yup. But this isn't the first time I had surgery. My first time was when I need a g-tube inserted after being on a nasogastric tube for 7 years. I had this condition since I was 9.

Prof. Williams: I see.

Cooper: But I'm still scared.

Prof. Williams: It's okay to be scared. Many of my patients, especially teenage ones told me that they're scared before an operation. That's okay. During the operation, we'll put you on anaesthetics and you won't feel a thing.

Cooper: So it won't hurt?

Prof. Williams: Yup.

Zach's POV

I sat down on my seat anxiously waiting for updates of Cooper. I'm not sure if he's in surgery or not so I went up to the receptionist to ask her. But I kept overthinking on what could possibly happen to Cooper at the moment. Despite this, I push out of my thoughts and went up to ask her.

Zach: Excuse me, are there any updates on a secondary school student named Cooper Stout?

Receptionist: All I know is that he is in the operating theatre right now. There's not much information I could give you.

Zach: It's fine.

Josh: How's Cooper?

Zach: He's in the operating theatre right now. They're about to get the Lunatite out.

Josh: That's good.

Brad: But Lunatite removal is a complicated surgery when it turns into a rock.

Josh: What do you mean?

Brad: Look, when you try to find the Lunatite, you need a camera to find a specific location where the rock is. Because Cooper suffers from gastroparesis, the Lunatite hit his stomach which is the most painful part of the body to be hit by this chemical. Sometimes even worse than being hit in the lungs.

Josh: Oh. How long does the surgery have to last?

Brad: About a few hours I guess.

Ryan L: Man, didn't know Cooper's condition could be so bad.

Brad: Also, the rock might cause further damage to Cooper's stomach because his gastroparesis had already caused enough damage.

Josh: What?!

Prof. Williams' POV

After a few hours of trying to carefully take out the Lunatite which now formed Lunarium, it is finally out and Cooper managed to survive the surgery. We stitched up the wound and transferred him to a gurney. I called Brad in and he teleported towards the hallways outside the operating theatre.

Brad: Hey.

Prof. Williams: Woah, you gave me quite a shock.

Brad: Sorry about that.

Prof. Williams: It's fine.

Brad: How's Cooper?

Prof. Williams: The surgery went well and he is going to make a recovery. We are just going to transfer him to the recovery ward and your friends will be ready to see him.
