"Why the hell wasn't I told you were here?" Ivy asks, walking into the scan room to find Derek, Amy, and Lexie looking at scans.

"You can leave and catch up with her later, Ivy," Derek tries dismissing her.

Amy grabs her hand, "No, I need back up from the only sister you apparently listen to."

He nods, "Fine. You just got out of rehab. I want you to get on your feet. But you can't help her."

"Dr. Grey, please leave," Ivy tells Lexie, who nods and leaves the room.

Amy pulls out a picture of a little boy and puts it next to the scan, "Look at his face. His name is Mason. This gliosarcoma belongs to his mother Erica. He's a great kid. I don't know him that well, but he seems great. I do know his dad well. His name is Cooper, and he works with me and he is a good guy. He is a good dad, which means he is the one who is gonna have to tell Mason that his mom is dead, that he doesn't have a mom anymore because we didn't do anything."

"You tell Cooper you're sorry. You tried. Let it go. I have a surgery," he turns to walk away but is stopped Ivy.

"What if that was Meredith. What if someone said no because the person seeking advice is a recovering addict. And because of that, Meredith dies and leaves you alone to tell Zola that her mother is gone. You really want to be that jackass? Cause if you do, you're not Derek Shepherd," she leaves him to think about that with Amy.

Ivy stands in front of the O.R. board as Jackson and April quiz each other, "Ah, 65 year old woman enters the E.R. in shock. Presents with a pulsatile, expanding abdominal mass. Go."

"Ruptured triple-a. I would take the patient straight to the O.R. and access the peritoneal cavity through a vertical midline incision," April answers, smiling as Ivy stays updating the board with a pissed off look on her face.

Alex and Meredith walk up, "You guys studying for the oral boards in the middle of the day?"

April nods, "Just another benefit of having study partners. You should get some. Although, Ivy isn't as studious as usual."

"I have one. It's just that my stupid study buddys too busy trying to save her stupid marriage to actually help me study," Meredith complains.

"Well, you know what's better than a study buddy? A study lackey. Check it. Hey, you. Brown-haired girl, you're up," he whistles to an intern.

"Uh, trauma incident or a surgical situation?"

April questions, "You made your interns come up with study questions?"

He ignores her, "Suprise me."

The intern asks, "A 12 year old boy fell off his bike, hitting his abdomen against the handlebars. Complains of progress-"

"Stop using interns for your personal gain. They need to learn how to perform medicine," Ivy interrupts her, turning around.

"Okay, those are the first words you've said to any of us all day. What's going on?" Jackson asks her before getting a page.

"What is it?" Ivy redirects the attention.

He looks down, "Sloan. 9-1-1. We're talking about this later."

She shakes her head, "No, we're not."

April turns to Meredith, "If you want, we-"

"I don't need help. I'm an excellent surgeon. You know it and I know it. Everybody knows it. I don't have to prove myself to anyone," Meredith rants.
