"Addie!" I yell again.

I finally forget everything and rush forward towards them. Hands grab my shirt and wrists and pulls my back.

I see Tommy run forward from beside me, squeezing through the doors and disappear before the doors slammed shut.

My heart pounds. Everything is quite. Too quiet. Too much quiet.

I faintly register the wetness of my cheeks.

Why were they so late? Why couldn't the doors close a moment later?

I can't take it anymore. I've lost her. I've lost Addie.

I run to the Deadheads and run and run. I want to scream my heart out.

Kill the shucking creators for all this. I reach a tree and punch it hard. I keep punching it, but it doesn't help at all. I know my fist is probably going to break, but I don't care. I lost her. I lost them.

I yell in frustration, giving the tree the final punch.

"Shuck it!" I yell and fell down on the floor, clutching my hand, burning in searing pain

I couldn't save her. I said I would but I didn't.

I couldn't even say that I loved her.

I lean against the wall as I feel myself drown my breath. My heart is still pounding. Minho and Thomas are talking, but I hear them tune out.

"Addie!"

He voice rings in my ears. He sounded so broken, desperate.

I let him down. I promised that I would come back. He hurt him. I've hurt someone yet again.

"Do what you're told." Minho says to Thomas. "Keep your mouth shut. That's what I expect from a Greenie."

Thomas scoots back a bit before he can realize his mistake. He had just shown Minho his weakness.He realizes it and pushes himself back from his knees.
