Chapter 39

I put Flynn down as we went into the cave and I saw my friends eyes widen in shock as they looked around. Soul laughed and said,
Their faces are priceless!
Oh you're awake from your nap? How was it?
How did you know I was asleep?!
It's kinda easy to tell when you didn't say anything when they reacted to finding out that the dragons aren't extinct!
That's true! Why do I always fall asleep when interesting things are happening?!
I have no idea. Maybe you're cursed?
Soul glared at me and said,
I wasn't asking you!
I chuckled and said,
I know I just said that because it's revenge for all the times you teased me!
Of course that's the reason! I wish I was there in person though! Looking through your memories isn't as fun as it would be seeing the real thing happening at that very moment!
I rolled my eyes and looked around. I saw all the dragons with all different colors there which is very usual but it is very important for the new leader to be hatched! But the most noticeable thing in the room was the colorful big egg in the middle of the cave surrounded by the dragons and I saw that it had some cracks in it! I can tell it's going to hatch soon! It will probably hatch in around thirty minutes! I'm also pretty excited to see a dragon hatching too! Edna looked over and when she saw us there she said,
"Welcome friends of Silverheart! My name is Edna. What are all of your names?"
Cosmo took and deep breath and said,
"It's very nice to meet you. It's pretty cool meeting a dragon! I always wanted to when I was younger but everyone said they were extinct!"
Edna chuckled and said,
"It's nice to meet you too! You are really lucky if you weren't friends with Silverheart you would have never found out that dragons aren't extinct!"
"We are pretty lucky!"
Then Ariella spoke up and said,
"My name is Ariella and this is Flynn. It's nice to meet you! I'm super excited to see a baby dragon hatch!"
Edna then said,
"I am excited too! I've waited for a while for this to happen to see the egg hatching! It is going to be the leader of dragons in the future after all! You are even more lucky to get to see such a special moment!"
Flynn then said,
"We really are lucky! I could never imagine seeing a dragon hatch but here we are!"
As they kept talking about dragon stuff that I already knew, my mind wondered. I wonder what she is going to be named! Who is even going to pick the dragon's name in the first place! Usually the parents chose the new baby dragon's name but this is a special case! Soul then said,
I would love to name the dragon!
Do I really want to know what you would name the dragon?
What? I can think up good names!
I know you can but whenever you think of names they sound evil!
Those are the best names though! Especially for a dragon that could set everything on fire and burn down the whole city!
I rolled my eyes and said,
Pretty much everything is made out of stone though so I don't think the dragon could burn down anything.
Stop ruining my fun ideas!
Yep surrrre that's totally fun seeing a lot of people dying!
I can tell your total sarcasm in your voice! You know how much I hate everyone so it would be great if everyone died!
I'm not at all surprised you said that! You are a lot like Soul in the book after all!
Soooo are you going to ask what I want the name of the dragon to be or not?
Nope. I see no point when you're not the one naming the dragon in the first place. I know it's going to be a bad name too so I really don't want to know!
Soul sighed and said,
Fine. You're no fun!
I groaned and ignored him.
34 minutes later...
We were sitting down talking to each other when I heard the egg make a cracking sound and when I looked to where the egg was, the egg finally broke open! She then crawled out and looked around! She looked so cute and pretty! Her head was a pinkish color and her eyes are violet and her horns were red. Her whole body was all different kinds of colors and her wings were all different kinds of blue. When we saw the baby walking around and how small she was everyone said Awwww at the same time. I saw the baby dragon look around some more and when she looked at me she rushed over and jumped into my lap. She then curled up in a ball and fell asleep! I then said,
"Okay this is adorable and all but why did she sit in my lap!"
All the dragons chuckled and Edna said,
"Well when the leader dragons hatch they still need to rest so they look for the strongest and safest dragon to be around."
I then said,
"I'm not a dragon though!"
"Well it could be anyone who is the strongest in the group and that would be you!"
"Wait, did you bring me over because of that reason?! You knew the baby dragon would do this!"
"Well yes we knew we just wanted to see your reaction when she did. Also we wanted you to name the dragon too!"
"Name her? What do you mean?!"
"Well whoever she comes up to first, names her and that would be you!"
"This was the plan from the start wasn't it? You wanted me to name this baby dragon!"
"Yep pretty much!"
"Is there a way I could just ask someone else to name her?"
"Nope you can't do that. If anyone else tries to name her she will refuse to have that name!"
I sighed and said,
"Fine, I'll think of one!"
"Thank you! We don't want the leader to not have a name!"
I glared at her and said,
"It would be your fault if she didn't! If I weren't nice I wouldn't name her!"
"Well I knew you would because you are nice!"
I sighed and thought for a second and said,
"I've read this book about names and what they mean and I think I'll name her Brenna. It means blazing light!"
"That's a beautiful name! I love it!"
I looked at all the other dragons and they looked like they really loved the name too and I said,
"Well I'm glad everyone likes the name. Her name will be Brenna Bloodmoon then!"
Cosmo then said,
"The baby dragon looks so cute on your lap and I really love the name! It fits what the dragon looks like too!"
Ariella then said,
"I agree with Cosmo! I also really like the name!"
Flynn then said,
"It really is a really cool name!"
"I'm glad everyone likes it! Never knew reading the book of names would come in handy one day."
Everyone laughed and Soul said,
Well I actually really like the name too but it's not as cool as my name!
I rolled my eyes and looked down at the cute dragon in my lap. She's is still so cute! Edna then said,
"Oh ya I completely forgot to tell you but since Brenna chose you as safe she will now call you mom!"
I glared at her and said,
"This is revenge for all the times I won against our fights isn't it!"
"Wellll that might be a part or it but I thought it would be pretty cute if she called you mom!"
Cosmo laughed and said,
"That would be pretty cute to see!"
I sighed and thought to myself. Well I guess I'm now a mom then! That's just great!!!!
Soul laughed and I groaned and ignored him.
