A/N: Just some mushy filler while Lucifer was away. Next chapter will be a birthday chapter in honor of Lucifer's Birthday!!!!
After the night that Lucifer came clean about his true identity, he and Cordelia became more open with each other. Well, he became more open with her... They were able to mend their relationship and decided to continue it. She had a lot of questions and they spent the entire night talking. He filled her in on "Diego" and about his brothers and who they really were as well. She was still cautious but he put most of her fears to rest.
Lucifer had to go to Devildom to help Lord Diavolo with some things and thus, he left the business to Bill for a time. Cordelia missed him dearly, but Diavolo made it so that Lucifer could connect with her in the Human Realm. He called every day and kept her updated. She also updated him on day-to-day business. Bill was still unaware of Lucifer's identity and Cordelia suggested they try to keep it that way. He may not be as forgiving as she was, that, and Bill was not one for keeping secrets.
Lucifer had been in Devildom, his home, for a few weeks. He was surrounded by his family and friends but without Cordelia beside him, he felt lonely. He had been away from Devildom for over a year but did he actually miss it? It was like nothing had changed. It was loud and he was stressed the moment he walked back into the House of Lamentation. His brothers were happy to see him for about a minute but then went back to their own thing. He kept his phone next to him and fought the urge to constantly call or text her. The faster this project went, the faster he could go back to Seattle, to his business, to her.
"Lucifer! How is it coming along?" Diavolo asked as he sauntered into Lucifer's study. Lucifer sighed. "Everything is going well. This is a big project it will take some time to work out the logistics but give me about a week and maybe I can sort this mess out." He gave a weak smile. "And then what?" Diavolo asked. Lucifer looked up at him confused. "What do you mean?" Diavolo looked around the office before answering. "This has been your home for thousands of years, and yet you don't seem too happy to be back. You want to go back to the Human Realm, don't you?"
Lucifer didn't expect Diavolo to call him out like that. It was true, he did want to go back but he wasn't going to tell anyone... At least not at that time. "Yes. I want to go back. Cordelia is my stress relief. She helps me through everything. She talks to me. She calms me." Diavolo understood exactly what he meant. He felt the same way when he had his human love in his life. He felt normal. Lucky for Lucifer, his love accepted him. Diavolo was glad that he took his advice and came clean. "Why don't you invite Cordelia down here for a while. Lucifer almost jumped out of his skin. "Absolutely not! I can't have her down here with my brothers and all the chaos that they ensue. She wouldn't be able to handle it. She's too delicate." Lucifer panicked. "Calm down, Lucifer. I just worry. I'm concerned that you aren't being yourself around her. What happens if she causes you stress or turmoil. Will you treat her like you do your brothers? Maybe she needs to see what you are like in your own environment to know what she wants. You won't be able to avoid your brothers in the human realm forever." Diavolo explained. "It's just another truth that will slip and ruin your relationship."
With the idea of Cordelia finding out about his anger issues in his head, Lucifer's work was starting to become affected. He sighed as he crumbled up some papers and threw them in the trash. Could he hide from his brothers forever? It sounded so nice to him at that moment as he heard Asmo and Mammon screaming at each other down the hall. He liked the idea of not having to deal with Satan and Belphie's menial pranks. NNo Beel, constantly eating all of the groceries five minutes after he brings them home. No loud yells from Leviathan playing games or summoning Lotan when he loses, flooding the house. He could just stay with Cordelia and live a happier life. Maybe, just maybe he would invite his brothers to visit every once in a while, once he got used to things. A little chaos wasn't always bad. He knew Diavolo was trying to persuade him to get his brothers involved, but that conversation really had the opposite effect for Lucifer. Leaving all of this behind, he loved the idea of it.
Late that evening he paused his work and went to the music room for a few minutes of relaxation. He found a piece of music and plopped down at the piano to play. It was a soft lullaby that reminded him of his time back in the Celestial Realm. As he was playing it, he became even more homesick for Seattle and his love. He plucked out his D.D.D, hit the video recorder, and started the piece again. After he was finished he sent the recording to Cordelia. Thanking her for making him feel special. Lucifer had been focused on others for too long. He was glad he had someone in his life that was looking after him like she was.
A few minutes later, his D.D.D buzzed. "Hello, Cordelia." He whispered. He couldn't hear anything but sniffling on the other end. "Cordelia, what's wrong? Are you okay?" He asked. "I-I just m-miss y-you." His heart cracked. He missed her too. He wanted to get back to her right now, hearing her cry like that. It had been three months too long since he had been in Devildom. "I miss you too Cordi. I promise you, I will be home very soon." He comforted her. "Promise?" She asked quietly. "I promise." They talked for a few minutes more before he had to go, but he had a new determination. He worked faster than he had in a long time.

Cordelia had missed Lucifer so much, that he had been staying at his place while he was gone. She went grocery shopping to fill his refrigerator with actual food, made sure his clothes were all washed or dry-cleaned. She wanted the place to me immaculate when he came home, whenever that would be. After a long day or cleaning the pool and the yard, she took a long shower and then went to bed. She snuggled up in his king bed and drifted off to sleep, wishing he was there beside her.
It was well after midnight when Lucifer finished his work. He was going to call Diavolo to let him know, but he just decided to just drop it all off at the RAD office. He grabbed his things and made his way to the school. He dropped off the papers and left a note. "Everything is here and finished. I am so sorry but I couldn't stay here another night. You can scold me later, but I'm going back to Seattle." He wrote. With that, he made his way to the portal.
Cordelia was snuggled under all of the blankets when Lucifer walked into his master bedroom. He had forgotten she had been staying there without him. He chuckled softly as he changed into something more suitable for sleep. He slowly made his way to the bed and slipped under the covers. Cordelia always looked so innocent and sweet when she slept. He carefully wrapped his arms around her and brought her as close to her as he could. "You're home..." She croaked softly. "Yes, love. I'm home. I've missed you." He kissed her head. "I've missed you too." She yawned, clutching onto his nightshirt and nuzzling her face in his chest. He was so happy to be home. Home... In the Human Realm. He never thought he would ever think that but he was happy here, with her. He hugged her tightly and fell asleep with her in his embrace.
