MtF trans reader, so if you have a problem with that, get the fuck out, thanks :)
Kind of a short one, but wholesome.

D/N - Deadname

Y/N's P.O.V.

Today is the day.
Thor is bringing his brother Loki back to Earth. As it turns out, he wasn't just an overpowered dick trying to take over the world. He was being mind controlled, but from what Thor has told me, he still sounds like a bit of a dick.
Anyway, he is coming back to make amends and redeem himself, by temporarily becoming an Avenger.
I had been dreading this day since I found out.

"Miss L/N, Mr. Stark has asked me to inform you that Thor and his brother Loki have arrived and your presence has been requested in the meeting room." JARVIS cut through my thoughts and I sighed, thanking the AI, before putting my book down and reluctantly leaving my room.

"Hey, girlie. Missed you at breakfast." Tony spoke as soon as I stepped into the meeting room. I gave him a half smile, before dropping down in my seat next to Nat and Steve.
"Anyway, as I was saying, we all have to avoid stabbing, shooting, and just killing the guy in general. I already regret agreeing to this, I certainly don't remember it."

"That's because you were drunk, Tony." I muttered and the billionaire rolled his eyes.

"Thor should be settling Loki into his room now." Steve sighed.
"So just do your best to get along with him, or if you can't do that, ignore him."

"And if we can't do that?" Clint asked bitterly.

"Then you risk pissing off two very powerful Norse Gods." I looked at my old friend.
"Not worth it."

"Y/N, I really thought you'd be on my side with this one." Clint shook his head.
"I mean, after everything... he threw our minds in the blender and made us blindly obey him and now you're willing to just pretend that didn't happen?"

"Yeah." I nodded.
"I try to pretend it didn't happen anyway, it really can't be much more difficult to have him in the building."

"Y/N is right." Steve nodded.
"Thor is a good guy, but he's fiercely protective over Loki, so avoid getting on either of their bad sides."

"Do I know you?" A voice spoke up and I almost jumped out of my skin. I turned to see Loki, stood in the entrance to my room, his eyes narrowed at me.
"You look familiar, but..."

"But you enslaved so many people last time you were here, you can't remember all of their names?" I asked sarcastically and he scowled at me.
"Sorry."

"I remember their names." He snapped.
"And their faces. But you weren't one of them..."

"I looked a little different when you took my free will away from me." I sighed and he frowned.
"I went under a different name too."

"What does that mean?" Loki crossed his arms over his chest.

"It means I've changed who I was since the last time we've met." I replied calmly.
"My name is Y/N L/N, but I was D/N L/N when we last met." His eyes widened slightly at that.
"Yeah. Go ahead."

"Go ahead?" He repeated.

"Surely you have questions. Everyone else did. They were supportive the whole time, but they had their fair share of questions." He pulled a face at that.
"What?"

"When we met, I could tell you were living an uncomfortable life. You felt... wrong. You were happy with your life, but not yourself. If changing your gender identity helped you fix that, why should I have questions? It's none of my business." To say I was speechless was an understatement.
"I may not understand much about your dull mortal lives, but I do understand what it feels like to feel like you don't belong. So no, I don't have any questions or queries, except one. Are you happier now, more comfortable with yourself?" I could only nod my head, amazed by how different this man was to the one I met so long ago.
"Well then, that settles it, doesn't it? It's nobody's business but your own."

"Thank you, Loki." I muttered.
"No one has ever said anything like that to me before."

"Well, then they're stupid." He muttered.
"Because it's common sense."
